Takes young daring outside the box thinkers to revolutionize the world. I need a time machine.The Sears traditional catalog business was a low-tech (no-tech?) forerunner of today's online shopping. Millions of customers shopped from the Sears catalog.
If only Sears management had been able to see the future, they could have repurposed the catalog business as an extraordinary online enterprise.
With there catalog customer database they quickly could have become Amazon.
We bought a refrigerator from them. It had a filter that needed to be changed every 6 months. Want the Kenmore filter? $50.00. Want to buy the Pur filter that was the exact same filter, but without the Kenmore label on it? $36.... for a TWO pack.

One large problem with Sears is the basically just rebrand things and jack up the price.
True but in the past the rebread most always came from a good quality supplier. So yea Sears marked it up a few bucks but I was happy to pay it thinking I was getting something passing Sears standards and Sears warranty backing it up.
Then maximum profit slowly creeped across all facets of retail and the great China manufacturing take over. Then presto buy buy quality at a affordable price and hello cheap China stuff in fancy packing.
