Just wanted to cross-post this here about my new, used plow. Hoping to get some feedback/advice from some of you veteran snow fighters.

This is my new set up. Case IH Farmall 75C with a Landpride RTB 3596 blade. Until now I have plowed with a skid steer.

If it is of any help, here are a couple pictures of my chain mounting. Previously I have done the drive over method, but I've found

A. These 2 ladder chains of this size are really heavy for this old man
B. Having a free wheeling wheel allows for easier handling and adjusting.

Thus I use a floor jack that has a flat square rubber head about 5 x 5 inches. It fits perfectly under the rear end housing where the draw bar is welded on. Both rear wheels are off the ground and the HST is in neutral with the front wheels blocked.

The hardest part for me is getting the chain cam as tight as I like it....even though I use tensioners.

That should work pretty good.

I tried to make a plowing video yesterday, but the lithium battery in my iPhone froze after just five minutes outside.

Wow, that looks like it can move a lot of snow!

After 3 years without snow we finally had a couple of (laughable) "measurable events"

Here's my two loaders back from a 1 AM job clearing emergency access lanes for a large seniors' complex (and more importantly) the parking lot of our neighbourhood pub)

That's how I install mine too. Hang the chain on the lugs and rotate the tire around. Get it as tight as possible and I use bungees as tensioners.

Looks like the adjuster cam is on the inside in pic #2.. is that where you want it?
I place the side chain with the simple hook on the inside with no extra links hanging there to flop around. Then the cam adjuster you show in the 3rd pic is on the outside with as few extra links as needed.. 3 for my chains. Good technique for getting the cam closed tight.

Well "Hello" there beenthere!! Good eye. Would you believe that I mounted that chain TWICE with the cam inside. Dah-h-h-. Is that a disease?....something like ADHD...attention deficit disorder.

Yeah, I left six links beyond the cam and then tie them off with wire. Some day I'll cut a few off, maybe.

Cheers,
Mike

Got some snow in NH today. Here is my Kubota L2501 with Land Pride SB1064 snowblower and ratchet rake "snow edge" on the bucket. The snow edge works great on the paved portion of the driveway. Use the snowblower on the long gravel part. Works great!
