We were having a discussion with our son about the War of 1812 tonight, and this song came to mind...probably my favorite as a kid. He had never heard it, so pulled it up on YouTube, and got a bonus - Ed Sullivan introducing Johnny Horton to sing it, complete with choreography...way ahead of its time...better than MTV. Some of you about my age must remember this song...

33 degrees with temps slowly climbing through the night, and now above freezing thru Xmas.

It would be nice if exceptions were made for genuine medical pot, the low THC stuff.
An alternative to many prescribed nerve medicines marketed heavily today. Not like the AMA is going to say anything nice...
I could easily get a scrip, am a poster child for nerve pain, but breaking the law is a serious deterrent for me.

We may have come out of the dark ages, but it's still not very bright out there. Nor do we have adequate controls but then, everyone seems to be shooting
up heroin now, so is pot a big deal? Heroin apparently is cheaper than pot for bang for the buck. Funny how the Afghans have a part in that.
Actually, not funny at all. They are poisoning our country and laughing all the way to the ISIS bank the Saudis set up.

Had a lovely afternoon by a roaring fire, reading my Kindle and dozing on and off. Made some decaf Earl Grey and just listened to the fire crackle, simmer and pop.
Good way to spend a cold day, toasting my feet near the fire.

Had a good day. Got nothing done but god day. Went out to the shop this afternoon after it being around 12 f all night and up to low 20's today and the bottle of water in my shop that has no heat was not frozen. Tried my brad nailer today and it won't fire. Been sitting around to long so down to the new work bench in the basement and worked on it a little. Have wanted a bench in the basement for years.:cool2: Now to get it set up and have the tools I need handy to fix stuff. The adds are getting to close to home. Talked to the guy at the hardware store tonight about flashlights and now the Tbn adds are about flashlights. :confused3:

Don, alfalfa has a chemical in it that causes plants to grow better and I am talking about something other than nitrogen.

RNG We have better feeling sinuses if the humidity is above 40, we have it set on 45%.

An interesting day.
Nice breakfast with wife before taking Kalani to vet for suture removal. Didn't take long and we were out of there.
This was first time the dogs have ever ridden in the Sequoia. Flash didn't know how to jump in, had to help him. They acted liked they missed their truck. So do I. Stopped at the Toyota dealer seeing that they didn't return my calls yesterday for an update. Still waiting on the thermistor part, expected today. Maybe, if lucky, we get Tundra back Monday.
Later wife and I drove up to Honokaa to finalize contract for our replacement batteries. Saltwater Battery | Safe Sustainable Batteries | Aquion Energy Been doing a bunch of research and crunch a bunch of data in spreadsheets for installer. Will be getting 18 Aspens late Feb. Now I need to finish my solar panel upgrade analysis and get those ordered. Would like to get installed prior to the new batteries but might not.

Nice outfits too. I take it that's a camo suit he is wearing, to make him invisible in the snow (well, all except the eyebrows ).


Talking of camo, you will have seen UTVs with a "realtree" paint finish, well don't tell anyone else, but I'm now testing a prototype 3D version for tires. Do you think it will catch on ?
