They did have a TSB and extended the warranty (not a recall) on the AIP system (air induction pump). This was an emissions device that pumped fresh air into the cats upon startup. Apparently the supplied pump was prone to moisture penetration and the pump would seize, causing a limp mode situation. I want to say they extended it to 10yrs/150k mile warranty.

You're right that there weren't many long bed trucks made. Toyota has a different building strategy than the domestics. They build "to demand" instead of projected sales volumes. This leads to less inventory availability, but keeps them from having to offer huge rebates due to lagging inventory. There are a couple available on eBay right now (long bed extended cab) and I've seen a few driving around locally.

Hardly. More like Bama and a bunch of average teams.

aTm hasn't won a conference title since the 90's, every road is tough for them.

Well since you brought it up neither has Nebraska. Neither of which has to do with this thread.

I'm pretty sure that when Eddie is referring to a long bed he means an 8' bed and I do not think Toyota builds a true Crew Cab with 8' bed. They did make an Access Cab (extended cab) with a 6.5' bed. Their Crew Cab has the short 5.5' bed.

I'm so "outdated". I'd never consider a 2.7L engine in a truck.....

Me too, ,,,, I thought it was a misprint......and still can't believe it.....wouldn't want one either.

That was the previous generations, prior to 2007. With the newer generations (2007+) they make an 8ft bed with a regular cab and extended cab (called a double Cab) configuration. They do not offer an 8ft bed on a "crew max" cab configuration.

Yes, a long bed is 8 feet long. The extra cab has doors and a bench seat that is great for storing tool boxes, but not so much for people.

That's not accurate. The extended cab (Double Cab) in the Tundra is bigger than the domestics "extended cab" options, and is nearly as big as the domestics "crew cab" options. Tundra's CrewMax is larger than the domestics crew cab offerings, matched only by Dodge's MegaCab

LOL. I love the trash talk but I'm not a Husker fan.

I just love giving Azz To Mouth fans a hard time about being SEC fanboys. Maybe someday you will be relevant beyond Johnny Football.

As to cab size, I love my mega. My brother has a toyota and they commented on how nice it was to be able to use the front center seat when the baby seat in the the back. It's really nice to have that extra space inside the truck.

I would look hard at the Nissan Titan. I had a 08 that was bullet proof and the toughest 1/2 ton truck I have has and as tough as my 3/4 ton gasser.

Haha, I'm old school and a 8' bed is a standard bed, everything less is a short bed.

I cuss the 5.5' bed on our F150 crew cab every time I use it. My other pet peeve is the bed tie-downs are mounted low in the bed. So if you load something and then decide you need to tie it down, you can't get to the tie downs.

With my next truck, I'm going back to 3/4 ton GM's with a standard bed (8' long!!).
