The JD4020 isnt even #1 or #2 within the john deere lineup. The model A and model B both exceeded 300k
IF I had time to research, the 4020 probably aint even in the top 10 with only 184k
So far, those that exceed that #
8n............................525k
2n............................210k (could be included in just "n-series")
farmall H..................390k
Farmall M.................270k
JD A........................300k
JD B........................300k
Fordson F.................755k
Fordson N................225k
I think the fordson majors exceeded 200k as well. But cannot find anything to confirm that other than their serial numbers for both the old, and new majors both exceed 220k
The 4020 was sold for 9 years. So when you think in terms of sales per year....being 20k......it really wasnt that great compared to some.
8n at 525k in 6 years = 87k per year
2n .......6 years....35k/year
The Allis chalmers WC is worth noting, as they sold 146k in 6 years / 25k per year while directly competing with the 8n 4 of those 6 years
farmall H...14 years.....28k/yr
