Has anyone made the JD front fender kit fit on a X734 AWS? I see JD says it only fits the 2 wheel steer models. I'm wondering how or what might be needed to make them fit as I HATE seeing the salty water spray up on my $15,000 machine when I sweep snow and snow blow at my business.

I have front fenders on my dads X475 and LOVE them because they keep the salt spray down from the tires in the winter.

Anyone know the front end differences between a AWS and a regular 2 wheel steering unit?

I'm going to pick up my new X734 tomorrow hopefully (assuming they get the power flow assembled). I might rip the fenders off my dads X475 and see how close they get.

Anyone have ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Show us some pics of the new X734 with the trial fit of the X475's fenders. Curious how close they might be.

I am wondering too. I have an AWS x485. The difference may be the steering linkage front to rear from the left front?

I'll try to get at it this weekend or early next week and see how close they are. I've got to call the dealer today and see if they got my X734 assembled because everyone is taking off because deer hunting season starts tomorrow, so no work will get done today or next week!

They fit fine on my X739 AWS but the steering and axles are totally different than your X734 so mine would use a different kit.

The left front will be the challenge. I got it home late this afternoon and swapped on my ATV tires for winter and the X475 (front steer only) rear wheels fit the X734 if you mount them inside-out!
I'm amazed how much narrower the X734 tires are than the X475's. Obviously its for the AWS, but the narrow offset wheels look kinda Homly compared to the X475's deep offset wheels.
LOVE the steering and manuverabilty of the AWS! Its hard to get used to it at first!

I think how the mount on the axle is different or the fender hits the deck when turning.

Any update?

I just removed them from the 475 today and I looked at them and I think they will work with a little effort. The right one bolted right on.
The left one the upper mount arm needs to be cut off and the rear mount arm should work. I'll just need to add a brace to keep the fender somewhat in the curved shape of the tire. I'm thinking of having a local welding shop just cut it up for me. I don' t have a welder.

I have thought about adding a front blade to my x749, how do you like yours and are you satisfied with what it can do?

I bought it mainly for snow work but we haven't had enough in the last 2 winters since I bought it to even try it out yet.

I've used it some for back blading dirt and crushed rock and it works well for that since I can apply a lot of down pressure (front wheels in the air) and still steer with rear wheels.

It will move loose material going forward but its hard to level it since the tractor is short and the tires are soft so I end up with choppy a surface, that could be the lack of practice though.

Would I buy it just for dirt work? Probably not since a box blade can pretty much do the same thing and generally do it better.

I'll try to mess with it tomorrow and get a pic.

Any clue WHY the front pto now has a sensor on it?

"sensor" like in what kind?

I added the front PTO kit for the snowblower and such and there was a sensor I had to install on the front PTO shaft that plugged into the tractor harness. I have NO CLUE what the **** its possibly monitoring.
Its mounted nearly tight to the shaft, so its monitoring the shaft speed somehow someway.

Maybe that sensor over-rides the RIO switch, so when the PTO shaft to the snowblower is turning, the PTO doesn't stop when you go in reverse... just a guess
