Do you wax your ladder?

Newbury, I am thinking not a lot of us wax our ladders..:D

I've decided not to start waxing my ladder. When I can't pull the rope and extend it with dry slides, I will know I shouldn't be climbing it.

... bought it 30 years ago and it came with 3" rubber wheels at the top to help roll up the wall, worked very good... I don't see other ladder's out there that has wheels on top.
So that is what the wheels are for! I have a Little Giant with pretty orange wheels on it. Need to make sure it is flipped and leaning the right way or you could have an E ticket ride!

I have a 30+ year old Little Giant. Wish I also had that sweet young thing you see on the TV adds to carry it around. Man - I can vouch for the durability of the Little Giant - been dragging all over the property when I need a ladder. Little Giant is one heavy ladder - even without waxed sliders.

And like James says - first to admit to waxing his ladder will be walking into a hail storm, ha,ha.

Next thing you know we'll be arguing about the best type of wax to use.

Myself, I always use a fine carnauba, wouldn't use anything else -- and I think less of a man who uses something different. (Although not nearly the contempt I feel for the slovenly man with an unwaxed ladder).

Beeswax has a fine, pleasant fragrance, plus, should any migrate off the rails and onto the rungs, it has a bit of gripiness.

Is that what they are calling it now? "Waxing the ladder"

Shame on you... you wrote what I have been thinking all along but you have to admit that it should help with extension.

Wow!! This has trended downwards in a hurry. Thank goodness, so few have put their inner thoughts in print :dance1:.

Waxa on, waxa off repeat waxa on, waxa off. Nex is painta da fence and sand da floor.

I tried a extension ladder without wheels on the top, lean it against the siding/wooden shingles and it goes up hard and can do damage to the fine paint job I've done, with wheels, the ladder just rolls right up, no fuss no muss.

I heard from a very reliable source that people in Branson Mo. use Turtle Wax, they say it's the best for waxing ladders. Ayuh..........
