Going thru the manual it states to run the engine at full throttle for the first 50 hours? Obviously, you don't want to lug the engine but, running at full throttle seems both a waste of fuel and not necessary. I've always varied RPMs when breaking in a new engine. Thoughts please. Thanks.

I have a 1736 and ran mine according to the manual and all went ok. I'm now at about 55 hours. Many of my break-in hours were on a mower so full throttle was needed.
