See this a lot -- sometimes I hope for a thunder shower!

I always wonder if they are holding to help hold it down or to be sure it's still there and not blown off.

At least they are using straps, and not twine...

I won't use straps for securing a load when they cross an edge, I had a long block on a pallet secured with straps, by the time I got home, two of the straps were cut where they touched an edge. if the straps are tight (like they should be), there is usually enough movement to quickly "saw" through or at least weaken the strap. I continue to buy straps for some reason, like when we drove 280 miles to get our new mower and realized all the straps/chains/etc were in the truck and not the Tahoe we took. Tied it down best we could, drove very slow to the local NAPA store and bought a 4 pack of straps. NO edges were crossed, held up very nice, even had a panic stop and the 1154lb mower did not shift. I have a toolbox that I am going to mount on the trailer tongue that will have an assortment of straps and chains. Just have not done it yet..

Throw a handful of these in the box, too.

Or use cardboard, old shop rags or carpet. Working in the Comercial kitchen industry everything is stainless and sharp so we always use cardboard. Works great and is free. Or a old glove floating in the truck works too

The weekend before last I went to one of the local flea markets near my home. Trips to the flea markets have NEVER failed to amaze me at the stuff you see there. This trip was no exception, in fact, it went to a new level of weirdness. This Jeep Cherokee has been stripped down to the floor pan, the front clip, the front seats, and the rear taillights. Nothing else was spared! I apologize for the bad pic, I was up kind of close and didn't take a few steps back to capture the total awesomeness of this unique street cruiser. Notice the speaker under the dash, got to have some tunes while cruising in this bad boy.

I just wonder, is this even street legal without the functional shoulder harnesses?? It looks like the seatbelts did have something there to strap in a rider with a belt only.

I use these to protect tie down straps. Cheap so easy to replace if they get damaged.

Great ideas... I have used cardboard and plastic, but they both seem to come off, I like the molded corners with the bumps to stop the strap from coming off of them. Thanks! I'll wait to purchase until I get the box on the trailer, otherwise I won't remember where I put them.

Its political season, collect those plastic cardboard political signs after election day and use those. They should hold up better than cardboard.
