Fall is coming.

Hot as it has been, fall is coming. The tree and barn swallows that take up residence at our place seemed to have moved out. I notice that the days are getting shorter too. No more mowing until nearly 10pm EDT which my neighbors likely appreciate. The hummers though, are going strong. We must have between 24 or 30 that are putting on quite a show.

FWIW...a local guy here that has an uncanny record of spot on predictions says we could see a first frost by 10/1...about a month early...he goes by the cicadas and katydids...Also I have seen birds this week that I usually don't see until Sept...
