Mahindra 5570
Hey, I'm new to the forum. I've read a lot of great info on here so I figured I would join. I have a mahindra 5570 has anyone had trouble with the tier 4 motors/emissions? Had a 08 model 6500 and loved it. It was bullet proof this brand new one has been a lot of trouble. Bought it April 27th haven't been able to use it but about an hours worth of operating. Mahindra has been reluctant to step up and make it right. Please any info you guys on the forum have would be greatly appreciated

Welcome. Try to describe the problem you're having with as much detail as you can. There are a couple of Mahindra dealer techs that watch the Mahindra section and they may be able to steer you in the right direction.

As soon as it was unloaded at my house I noticed white smoke puffed out. I also noticed not much power. Dealer said to run it awhile. So I did, couple hours in to it the MIL light comes on, also continues you puff white smoke when starting. Then tractor bogs down and stalls out. I carry it back to local dealer. He replaces egr valve and egr cooler and resets error codes. Finally get it home and 10 minutes in to running MIL light comes on and bogs down and stalls out. When I start it back up it is smoking worse than ever. Called dealer immediately after that, and know one has an answer for me. Bought brand new 2 months ago and still haven't got to enjoy it

Where are you located and who is your dealer? Ireland? It sounds to me like you need to get Mahindra directly involved with this. Hopefully one of the dealer types will speak up soon. They will often have a clue if Mahindra is having a problem like this with a specific model.
I also would not bring it back home unless you know it will running right. If I were making payments on it and it's that bad, those would likely stop too.

Yeah I agree. I just couldn't understand how my first mahindra could be so great and this one so bad. I told the head of customer service I wanted my money back. She told me the selling dealer has to do that. So I asked him for a refund and at the least a different machine. So he says he will call the southeast service manager hadn't heard anything back and now he won't call me back

Did you pay cash or finance it with Mahindra? What state? If they aren't cooperating maybe you need to have a lawyer to give them a jingle. That's a last resort of course but is sometimes necessary. I like my tractor but so far Mahindra does not impress me with their after sales support. Even their manuals suck.

By the way the mechanic that worked on it told me I was gonna miss my old one. Said Mahindra had a lot of issues to work out on the new tier 4 tractors

I didn't finance through mahindra so not making a payment is not an option. Would I be jumping the gun by contacting a lawyer? I know that you can have trouble with anything you buy , but this is ludacris. I have basically been without a tractor for 2 months. Could the BBB help any? And yes the manuals suck. I have to turn to forums for info. Lol

I don't know about the lawyer because I'm not in your shoes or getting the feedback from the dealer you are. As I said lawyers are a last resort short of a rope and firearms of course. LOL
Hopefully one of the Mahindra tech types will give you some insight soon. I remember some sort of EGR farcus causing a problem like that but forgot which model it was.

I think about all the BBB ever really does is collect their money. I haven't heard anyone mention them for years now so I presume that they are fading away.

Depending on what state you live in, your state laws can sometimes help.

I live I tennessee. I hope people see this thread who are considering financing a tracor. Go through the manufacturer financing, if there is problems stop making payments. All companies now want is maximum profits with minimal support for the customer

I think the dealer types on here are DavesTractor a dealer in CA, Jabonee works at a dealer back east and closer to you and I think Navasot is somehow connected too, he's in Texas so maybe even works for Mahindra but ain't sayin. Hopefully one of these folks can steer you straight.

Not making payments is never a good idea. They may be in the wrong, but you are in violation of your contract which is ... more applicable. Your problem sounds like the issue I've read about here on the 2555s. You might want to read that thread. Seems like the jist of these new tier 4 diesels is to never idle them for very long and keep the rpms up when working them. Hope you get a satisfactory resolution soon.

Yeah I've read some of the threads on the 2555 problems on keeping rpm's up and always kept them up I think there is more to the problems than that. No tractor should be that fickle with the rpm's causing the tractor to malfunction within a couple of minutes. I hope mahindra will address this for all the frustrated ownerd out there

Thank you!....I was going to say the same thing! Yikes....pay your bills, if not you end up paying out the nose next time you take a loan out...

Yeah, you got to make payments. it just really hurts to make payments on something that has never been usable.

OK, let me guess...they already have sold your 6500....if not have them bring it back to you until the new one is fixed to your satisfaction... I've got a 6000 and based on what I'm hearing/seeing with Tier 4..I will have it until they bury the keys with me...bobg in va

Yep you better keep it. Wish I had my 6500 back. Newer isn't always better

I'm a dealer, but in the Mahindra line I specialize mostly in the Mitsu product. Our market is good for a ton of smaller tractors. Once we get to 60-100 HP, 95% of our sales are for low profile specialty orchard tractors of another brand since Mahindra is not in that market.

So I am lacking experience trouble shooting this model from my keyboard. Other dealers that have a big market for these models will chime in and have some ideas I am sure. Having said that, the tractor needs to be at the dealer, codes need to be scanned. If that doesn't show a smoking gun, then they need to look at some old school problems. The fact that these are computer controlled doesn't mean that it is always that aspect of the tractor that is causing the issue. For example, there could have been some manufacturing crud in the fuel tank. It may have washed down to the first banjo fitting and partially plugged the fitting. That will cause poor power, white smoke, etc. There are other things to look for, both hi-tech and low-tech.

The dealer needs to get on this and if he is unable to solve it, get the Mahindra service rep to come to his shop. Those guys tend to be sharp. Lastly, once they "fix it", they need to put it on the dyno for 1/2 hour or so and run it through it's paces to make sure they got it.

We have found that customers are almost always gracious and easy to deal with even if their tractor has a problem, as long as we jump on it and make sure they know it is a priority to us. If you ignore a customer or communicate poorly, the problem can get real big real fast. There never should have to be a discussion about lawyers, not making payments, buybacks, etc. That kind of talk arises once a customer has lost confidence.
