Reminds me I was heading home one night and a guys 3/4 ton Chevy or GMC dies just below the crest of a hill. I can tell by the lights dimming he is trying to restart it. Keeps rolling back a little bit, finally he is back far enough I can shoot around him. I ask him if he wants me to use my strap and pull him over the hill and to a side road where he can safely try to get it going or leave it for the night. He first asks me if I will tow him to his buddies house about 15 miles down the highway. I say no way. He agrees to let me get him off the highway about a mile to the next side road. All the while he keeps trying the starter. I hook up the strap and tell him to flash his lights when he is ready. I get the go ahead and go to pull him and it feels way heavier than it should. ( I am using a F350 v10 and am used to heavy loads) I think maybe is slow getting off the brake or something. Then I realize his lights keep dimming. This idiot is still trying to start the truck. He is NOT in neutral!!! We haven't gotten barely up the hill let alone close to the turn out. I go back and ask him what the heck and says he is with me now if I will just pull him to side road. I get back in my truck and start off OK then all the sudden his truck just locks up again and he trying to start it. I have had enough so I just pull him the rest of the way leaving black trails from his rear tires flat spotting down the highway. I think I actually made second gear. I turn down the road and can't retrieve my strap fast enough and he thanks me for the help as he is still trying to start his truck.
