MF165 Identification- Please Help!

Hello, I am new to this group, but from what I have seen so far it looks like a solid forum to join for tractor owners and operators. I just purchased a Massey Ferguson MF165 with a Perkins diesel and I am unable to match the serial number to anything I have found to determine the year, diesel engine size, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated! The serial number from the plate located under the steering column is CDW643007447

I will also attach a few images to help identify.

I too am new to this site. I'm having trouble ageing my MF165 the serial # is HFG509793. Can anyone help?

Generally speaking, a dealer can cross reference the serial number in a computer and tell you a lot about a tractor and nearly all type of equipment. This includes combines, swathers, haybalers, etc. There usually no charge to have them check the computer on a serial number.

Hi Joey, same site says AD4-203 of 58HP, or an A4-212 but no HP rating - although I believe it's also 58HP.
I believe a plate somewhere around the inlet manifold area will tell you which engine is fitted.
There are several other members of this site who know them much better than I do - it's just a matter of time before one reads your post.
Nevertheless you've got your hands on a good-looking and popular machine :thumbsup: a great model of tractor too. Hope you keep it as eye-catching into the future. :drink:

G'Day Chris, not sure of your serial number - generally speaking, 1967-1975 production all had "9A" in their S/No. '64-'66 were 643xxxxxx from 000001. Could you recheck on the plate below the instrument panel - there's a chance the number you have is actually another number - eg engine number? :thumbsup: Thanks, and can we see some pics?:drink:
