How much tractor do you need?

Well I aint saying Im the smartest, but how much tractor do you need? Took my 2012 Mahindra 4wd 4025 with a 6ft shredder thru some brush that at times was 8ft tall.

I did that one time with my 1710 and a 5 ft. I t was kind of strange driving over little trees that were taller than I was and just having it chew them up. That sounded like a nice load for that tractor.

Yes sir. The homemade canopy on there is 8ft from highest point to the ground and some of that stuff was up there.

If you listen to some guys you'd have a 4 foot cutter on that thing. Until you are stalling out in first gear you aren't out of power. A HST is only limited by cutter weight.

It is an old dale philips 6ft shredder on there. This unit is gear driven not HST.

Its as if he is bulldozing thru the brush with the tractor and that aerator looking job he is dragging is just heavy enough to cut through the majority of that brush.

Those are nice, but I would only have one if it was a closed cab. Could you imagine a open cab doing that?

It's an old Rhino TW72. I gave $1,000 for it, put about $300 into repairs and have abused the heck out of it. It's got some rust coming through the deck that I need to repair but, it's taken everything I've thrown at it and kept on trucking.

doesn't that tear up the bottom of the tractor, hoses and such?

I haven't had any issues with that, it's all protected pretty well underneath, sort of like NH thought a tractor might get used in rough terrain and brush . Mashing it down with the FEL first helps some also.

I usually back into really heavy stuff now. I've done more damage backing in than just driving over it though. Bent a stabilizer bar, killed some tail wheels, etc.

Nope. In fact when they started on my place it was dry so they had to stop for a few days until some rain fell and settled got the dust down. The cab seals in one of the track loaders, the older one, weren't so great and the operator could hardly breath. The owner said the county would give him a dust ticket if he'd kept it up. It was either wait for some rain or use water trucks and haul a lot of water in and that of course adds to cost.
