Tractor
John Deere 4005
Have a 4005 John Deere tractor. width from outside tires in rear is 66-67". 41 HP and about 38 at PTO.

Trying to Decide between Ansung ER 62 and 74 and the Bush Hog RTG 60 or 72.

I think the width of the ft models from shoe to shoe is about same width as tractor but actual tilling width is only 60-62".

I kind of think the 6 ft models would be a little more harder on tractor and also will end up with about 1 ft of overhang and if doing food plots may be a little tighter to get between trees on the hunting roads at times.

Just thinking the width of machine will be same width as tractor and should still cover tire tracks. Bush hog brand seems to weigh about 30-50# more but think there is 5 year gear box warranty on both brands.

Any advice or thoughts on the equipment or the width I should get for that tractor.
ER062 $1,550.00
ER074 $1,700.00
RTG - 60 - $1695
RTG 72 - $1900

I have a Bush-Hog branded tiller,I think the 60 series.Used it on my L3130 and now a L4240 and it's a good fit and held up well.I don't like implements wider than the tractor.Mine has held up well and I have lots and lots of rocks.I think people put too much in the idea that a tiller has to cover your tracks.

How wide is your tractor outside tires?

On the l4240, would you send me a pic with tiller on back? Does it cove tracks pretty well? Think it's same width as mine

I would recommend stepping up to the YJR )&$ as it is better mad the the ER series. The 200 lbs in weight is your friend. You have plenty of power to run as I am running one with only 26.5 PTO hp. Going on 4 years now with no issues of mine. Several venders here carry it. I got mine out if a local rental fleet.

Hope this helps.

I researched this thoroughly when I was purchasing my tiller. I ended up with a RT60G with no regrets. It's 66" wide at the skids and 59" working width tine to tine.

My tiller won't be on for at least another four weeks;way too wet.I am about 70"out-side;the tiller maybe 60" till area.Again it's not a big deal(at least to me) not to cover the tracks.I do about ten acres of garden and food plots every year;plow first.I don't believe I covered the tracks even on the L3130.

Leaning to the yjr062. The unit with skids is about 1 inch wider than tractor in theory leaving about 2 inches that's not "tilled" but still covering tire tracts. Can't I just overlap a couple inches to make sure ground is tilled and save some money from buying the wider 74 model? I kind of like idea of not being six foot wide for hauling and maneuvering in food plots and logging roads.
Anything I'm missing here?

I am also shopping for a rotary tiller. Not living near any ag machinery dealers I have not yet seen any in person. Would you tell us which tillers you have compared the YJR062 to? I need the width of the YJR074 but am concerned that it has fewer franges and blades than the smaller YJR062.

Thanks.
