RNG you are very bussy and getting things done. better than me.

I changed out the pto switch on Bernice's JD Z 910A and still the blade clutch does not engage. All the wires look good, all the safety switches work properly. The only thing left is taking the clutch off and that would require . . . . I told her she would have to take it in. Sorry.

Boy, I'm sorry that switch didn't fix it...bummer.

Up a bit early this morning. I have a customer coming in this morning and I've got to finish some documents I should have completed yesterday.

Good morning. Overcast once more, although the good thing is that I can now get through most fields on a tractor without making a mess. I keeping telling the impatient sheep that the grass is surely growing, though I doubt a ruler could measure each day's growth, it would take Vernier calipers to register this slow crawl into spring.

Yep, but ....... you never have enough grapples. :)

There should be a law against people having TWO grapples while others on this planet have to make do with a lowly 4-in-1 bucket . Only kidding Rick, I'm just envious that you have so much potential firewood to grab.

RNG Hope the coins do turn out to have some value, although most valuable of all is your poop pipe prose - priceless. Thanks for the laugh.

Good morning all. 47 this am going to 76. Glad to have some nice warm weather. Had a good time last night. A couple friends came over and talked and played music for a few hours. They always put a smile on our faces. Going down to the house we are going to buy and look for a water leak. The normal bill is about 4000 gal and this month it was 17000. Just trying to help out. They are the same people that played music here last night. Any tips would be a help. I hope you all have a great day.

RNG
I hope you soon get all of the things done and can get back to your life and the things you need to do at home. Thanks for the story. You never did say if you loaned them a hose or not. :D Ed

45 going to 77 and sunny.

Don, nice that you went to so much effort on that mower. Sorry didn't work out.

Drew, how was that first night sleep in your new rolling cabin?

Got a couple of acres of fields cleared of saplings, and then bush hogged. All done for this cycle.

Long list of little projects today, and then some planning for a hike tomorrow in Shenandoah.

52.5F and clear @ 08:00 ... the forecast high is 60F and I'm guessing we should easily hit that.

Yesterday afternoon I brought down about a dozen bucket loads of wood chips and spread them out on that planting bed on the east side. Went into the shop and had a look around, to see what kind of mess awaits me there ... not too bad. Was kinda on the cool side, so I started a fire in the double-barrel stove.

After that I headed up to Uncle Buck's and picked up two larger pet carriers, with the small one we have I should be covered for today's appointment at the vets ... assuming I can round the three of them up. Grabbed the two trash cans and the recycle bin on the way back in.

Then I moved the Simplicity and the little wagon around back and went into to the basement and started to gather up all the clean steel for various projects and all the cans of spray paint to take up to the shop.

Probably move that stuff up to the shop today, along with various tools, maybe do a little leaf clean up if there's no wind.

57 this morning and headed to 69 today.

Still no luck on finding that dam mouse. Smell is getting better but wife still not able to use laundry room. Back door propped open again today.

Finish washing insides of chicken coops and then start decrusting. Have to quit early as it's the MIL's birthday so I'm being sent on a mission to bring back Moonlight BBQ.

RNG classic story. Hopefully things turn out well with the auction.

Coffee is done brewing. 60° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 75° with mostly sunny skies. Large recycle plant fire yesterday in Phoenix. Has made my sinuses working overtime today. Will be staying inside.
RNG, good poop story. Hope all turns out ok on house.
Don, did you check fuses?
Good Morning All.

Yeah, Ed, he got the hose alright. Soaked from head to toe. Took extra effort to get his beard clean, but we managed. I even gave him a couple of old bath towels to dry off with. Still one loose end remains: The rinse water ran down the driveway and under the front deck, and now there's a bit of a septic odor there. They're supposed to come out this week and take care of it, but I bet I have to call and remind them.

Too bad you're not a bit closer, RS. There are at least two pet carriers in the basement here, and they'd be yours for the asking...

Good Morning! 56F @ 9:15 AM. A mix of clouds and sun early followed by cloudy skies this afternoon. High 63F. Winds SW at 15 to 25 mph.

Tried to replace a bulb in the hanging lamp over the kitchen table last night, but couldn't get the new bulb to screw into the socket. Tried moving the one next to the bad one into the socket and it fit fine. Tried the new bulb in the other socket and it's a no-go. The replacement came out of a drawer in the kitchen, and I didn't know it was there when I purchased another new bulb at HD last week. So hopes of returning that five dollar bulb vanished when I broke the seal on the package, but it screwed right in and fixed the problem. That's typical of how things are going here. I replaced the water heater yesterday, but for some reason couldn't drain the old one. Managed to get a foot of wire up through the drain valve to clear it, and even flushed some water out the drain valve while it was still connected to the water service. So I just accepted that it would be a bit heavy moving it, and went outside to get a dolly to help. Both tires were flat on the dolly, so I went into the garage to use one of two air compressors there. Plugged in the one easiest to get to and it ran, but the pressure came up very slowly. That's when I noticed air leaking past the flapper valve on one of the cylinders, something I don't have time to deal with but that is a simple repair as Speedaire parts are still available at Grainger. Anyway, got the tires up to the recommended 30 psi, then managed to get the dolly under the water tank. But couldn't get it to tip over far enough to roll it. I was able to get it just off the floor, and found that the wheels would move toward me about a foot before it all went back down to the ground. So that's how I moved it, far enough to get it out of the way to put the new one in. I'll get a neighbor to give me a hand with it later in the week to get it out of here.

On today's agenda I'll finish with the flag pole mount I cemented in two days ago, another goat rope. I'll also try to lift two corners of the deck that have settled and shim them up with a brick or two so things sit level again. But before that I need to replace the rusty drain fitting and strainer in the kitchen sink and replace all the batteries in the smoke detectors. Better than replacing the smoke detectors as I first thought I'd need to, because the wires for the detectors were hanging out of the ceiling mounts and the missing detectors were found at the bottom of a closet. I keep telling myself to take a deep breath and keep chipping away...

Good Morning. 0825, sunny, 41F with 99% humidity. Forecast high of 78F with no chance of rain today, and a low of 53F tonight. Yesterday's frost got my Acorn squash and a few pepper plants. Burned them pretty good. Everyone told me I was starting too early. But most of the pepper plants fit in the underground greenhouse, so I have lots of replacements.

Margie took the day off from work. She has a CD that needs rolling over, and they wouldn't let her do it by phone. There is always a new bunch of folks at the Walmart Sun Trust branch, so they said they didn't know her well enough to do it. They have the other banks beat on interest, or we would be going somewhere else where they do know us.

So trying to squeeze in the housecleaning with a trip to town. Not sure how that is going to work out. And if Marianna Toyota have the tire for my Tacoma when I call them, I will be cleaning out the truck too. That is something I don't look forward to. I go a really long time between passengers.

You guys have a good one,

Larro

Happy 92nd birthday Dad.View attachment 462012

Happy birthday to your dad. He is looking good.

My 88 year old Mamma is in Denver right now. The last trip out there just about killed her, but her great grand-kids can't come this summer, so she said she was going to see them. She did end up spending the first night in the hospital from lack of O2, but she bounced back pretty good. Them old folks are a whole 'nother kind of tough.

Oh yeah ... I've already heard from The Woman about how I must be nuts ... or something ...

Seriously though, I think it's going to be all about the order in which I catch them and package them up ... the older female cat will have to be done first, as she's the most likely to spook, then her brother, and then The Squeak ...

Getting the two older ones into the carriers could be interesting ...
