2011 Kioti CK20hst
Pondering the idea of getting a new 2510. Just paid off my CK20HST and like the idea of having warranty on my tractor. I know there isn't much of a difference in the two, a little more power and faster hydraulics on the 2510. I looked at the 2610 but was about $4000 more. I have about 460 hours on mine now.

If you have the extra cash and it's what u want go for it. I don't think I would make the upgrade though. I don't see enough of a upgrade over your current machine. Now if your not happy with what u have and need something different then that's another story.

With the information given, my decision would be Not.
If you have had problems with the CK20, and have been using the warranty to keep you and the machine going, I would probably consider a new tractor. Possibly larger.
If you have had 460 trouble free hours, I would have to think that any gremlins have worked themselves out without notice. Keep it.
A couple more hp and a little more torque may make high range a bit more usable while also helping out your snowblower. I'm making that statement based on Kioti specs. Possibly someone who has operated both machines will chime in.
Good luck with your decision.

If the CK20 is otherwise satisfactory for your needs, why not look into finding an extended warranty. I haven't heard of extended warranties on CUTs but I suspect someone out there offers one. Also, there just isn't much that goes wrong with these tractors other than operational damage which wouldn't be covered anyway. Change the fluids and use it reasonably and you can pass it down to your grandchildren. You'll be paying at least an extra $5,000-7000 for a new version of the same thing so just consider that amount as a maintenance fund. Invest it and hopefully you'll never need to touch it as it grows up to be a college tuition payment for some lucky young relative.

Resist the urge

Maybe there is a year end bonus or tax refund playing into this

If you have a machine that fulfills your needs then stick with it

I've had my machine going on 10 years and was just thinking yesterday that I still have it as it fits my needs very well

I went through a bunch of machines before I settled on this one

Don't fix what ain't broke

Not sure where you looked, but here the CK2610 was only $1,000 more. Which is why I got it instead of the 2510. Not the difference in price from the 2610 to the 3510 was about $3,000.

Thanks for all the input. I actually have only had one leaking seal and that has been the only problem and that was fixed within the 4 year warranty. I have decided I am just going to keep it, it has been a great little tractor.

Good move. Gear acquisition syndrome reared its ugly head and you beat it back!!

I went throughi the same thing. I had a CK20 and sold it and bought a CK2510. The only difference was that I had over 1600 hours on the ck20.

Does the 2510 do anything that the CK20 couldn't? I haven't compared them directly but looking at the specs makes me think the 2510 is essentially a refreshing of the CK20 with a tad more power. For some reason Kioti failed to upgrade the single weakest point of the CK20 which is the lack of a three range HST.

1600hrs on a modern diesel tractor is just late adolescence or young adulthood in terms of lifespan so I personally would want a significant upgrade over the venerable, very competent and reliable CK20. I still miss mine as evidenced by the photo in my avatar a full eight years after upgrading to a DK.

The ck20 is a tremendous tractor and I kind of miss it as well. It was not just the hours comparison that prompted me to make the upgrade/equalgrade. It was nice to drop from 1600 + to zero hours indeed but I move a lot of snow. I wanted the luxury of a cab with heat and a front snow blower as well so the exchange was quite a temptation. I ate enough of that snow while backing and watching backwards from the seat of that 20 with a rear snow blower to jamb pack Times Square twenty years into the future. The Kioti backhoe that came with my CK20 package in 2007 got recycled to the back end of the 2510 and it continues to dig any stump onboard the ck2510 to this day. The only real difference I can see is probably a plastic hood in place of the 20's steel one and maybe 6 quarts of Rotella 15/40 oil over the 3 + for the 20 at oil change time. I'm not aware of any real difference in horse power. The 2510 steering is a little quirky at higher speeds. I have not quite figured that one out just yet. My hand at adjusting the tie rod ends has not been successful. It just that a slight correction seems always overdone when steering down the road at faster speeds
