Good Evening Guys, we hit 61 today Down the Jersey Shore.

Picked up a JD STX38 Lawn Tractor to replace my 26 year old STX that has seen better days. The machine is being retired from weekly cutting and leaf chores. Spent today helping my wife get ready for my nieces baby shower then helped my son rebuild the carb on his 1957 Power King.

Don: Happy Birthday and glad you had a good cruise. My wife and I enjoy cruises.

Kev: Glad the grapple worked out. Good Job!

Making an on-site consulting call tomorrow, expect it will run 5 days. Will play havoc with biking, STL much colder :( . Spent most of today prepping for trip.

52 going to 68 and sunny.

Nice day to go to the beach...which I will do early this morning to visit my mom.

Took the Kubota down to the bridge yesterday - I should have waited a bit longer for the approaches to dry out - have some nice ruts on the near side of the bridge - the other I dumped 3 bucket loads of wet sand I dug out of the creek with a shovel and then raked across the ruts. I'll wait for more drying and try to hit the ruts again tomorrow, and maybe dig out some more sand.

Skies very clear last night stars very bright beautiful to say the least

Our view of the night sky was also very clear last night, especially the twinkling of lights that can only occasionally be seen on distant hills. Part of me would like to look through a telescope and on a map to identify exactly where they are, although so far I have resisted that temptation, partially because it could destroy some of the magic, but mostly because I don't have a telescope :). I wanted to stay out for longer but dog finally insisted that we came back and check out the wood burner.

Water troughs are well and truly frozen this morning, with the ground frozen solid enough to be drive over a couple of fields in a car for a change.

I have a field with no natural water supply and at the moment the stock have to take a drink from water that I have been pumping into some makeshift containers. When I bought this field it came with a 6' water trough that must have been pushed over by cattle in the past.

It's time I tried to get it back into use, ideally it needs to be moved 50 yards up the hill closer to the pond. It must have been set down while the concrete apron, poured over a brick base, was still wet. Gentle persuasion with a sledge hammer hasn't got it free. Any ideas on how to proceed would be welcome.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 59° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 84° with partly sunny skies. Never got to waxing yesterday. Back on the list for today.
Txdon, Happy belated Birthday. Hope you enjoyed it and the bottle of champagne.
Eric, maybe a little persuasion from front end loader at each corner until it breaks loose.
Good Morning All.

41 this morning and headed to 60 today. Nice sunny day and rain expected tomorrow.

Can't find my soil sample bags so I guess I'm off to town to get more after I get through the birds. Doesn't look like we got a lot of rain last night so I'm going to spend the day soil sampling. Will have about a dozen samples to pull. Will then be ready for spring fertilizer and will also tell me if I need manure or fertilizer. Then to get back to spring cleanup. Freezer is airing nicely so will also try and finish that today.

Eric. Concrete water and feed troughs are nice. My first thought was to strap it and lift it but I don't think you have enough tractor as they are also very heavy. Anyway to turn it over and then clean it up. Or just drag it to its new home.

Eric I had some cement beams to move that were too heavy for my tractor. I lifted one end and put a pipe under it and then lifted the other and did the same. I then pushed it forward and the repositioned the pipes. At 50 yards away just repeat 50 times.

To clean up the edged or bottom I would use my hammer jack drill that I got from Harbor freight. I would drill some holes with masonry bits and then use the chisel bit. Something like this.

Good morning! Cloudy and 62˚.

Good morning! 62 degrees and way foggy this morning, forecast to76 degrees this afternoon.

Happy Birthday Don! You should try one of the European River Cruises some day. We went on one (AMA Waterways) in Holland and Belgium last spring. Only 160 passengers so by the end of 8 days you know everyone on the boat. We prefer the AMA over the one you see advertised on TV due to AMA having much better staff to passenger ratio, very new boats.

Good morning. 32 heading to 60 depending on who you listen to. 3" of white stuff on the menu for tomorrow and tomorrow night. Got to get some lights for the range hood that work today. Yesterday one of the range hood lights burnt out so I went to Menards and got two LED R20 style replacements. The hood has high and low setting. The LEDs don't work in the hood but will work in the table lamps, why? I have no idea but a friend said that LED lamps don't draw enough current to trigger most TRIAC type dimmers. Now to figure out what a TRIAC type dimmer is. I don't think it is that style because the hood just has a high, low and off not a slider and the lights on the package said dimmable so I still don't know what they don't work in the range hood???

You guys should be able to do whatever you want today because this day don't exist most years so it should be a freebie day. Happy leap day.

Don, hope you had a happy birthday.

Good Morning. 0820, sunny, 47F with 92% humidity. Forecast high of 74F with no chance of rain today, and a low of 49F tonight. Looking ahead, I see 80/61 forecast for next Tuesday. Mr Winter might be on his last days.

I camped last night, and I can testify that the stars were shining bright last night. I walked down to the pond with a folding chair and enjoyed the view after supper.

Eric, I would dig out a little along each side and build a drag underneath your trough. Then dig a hole the same size as your unwanted apron in your new location, and just ease it into place. No one would steal it.

You guys have a good one,

Larro
