Well you can build them a lot cheaper in Cuba and those folks aren't near as spoiled as we are so they don't need all the bells and whistles we expect on a tractor. Just something basic, reliable, and something they can maintain themselves.

I always thought the Tuff-Bilt was based on the Allis Chalmers G.

The Cleber/Oggun tractor is a copy of the Tuff-Bilt, even "built" in the same city, Paint Rock, AL. Tuff-Bilt has a lawsuit against Cleber for using their tractor in their demos and media.

You can buy a lot of Chinese tractor for $10K. Especially if it doesn't have to be EPA compliant. Color me skeptical.

If it can be built in the US for $10K it can probably be built in Cuba for a lot less. I think the real question is how big of a market is there for a A-C G clone. The design with the rear engine and front and rear lifts has some advantages over anything else in the market, but is it enough. The "G" was very well regarded but not enough to survive.

The tractor doesn't match the crops in cuba, the co. only has 5 or 6 dealers in the US. Go build a 5 to 10M plant. Boy's there is a snake in the grass here somewhere.

American businesses do not like building American products on American soil. Much too expensive. Much cheaper to build things overseas.....plus profits can then be kept offshore and you don't have to pay huge taxes. Really.....it's the American way now.........also called screw America.
