I belong to a football forum, where every post can be scored 1 to 5 stars by each reader. The bickering and hijacking of posts is a daily thing. It is not a place for the thin skinned.
One thing I really like about this forum is the civility of the posters.

This is about the tamest forum I'm on by far. I usually really enjoy reading peoples posts. Plus there's allot of good information.

Dan, I've never "ignored" anyone. At some point in time I've always read "valuable" posts from those that I might consider "ignoring". So kinda hate to miss that. I just try to deal with it. I also try to use smiley faces to signify that I'm not personally attacking anyone. But sometimes that doesn't help either. I've lost track of the number of times I've apologized for statements I've made during a thread discussion. Part of those apologies were certainly needed because of my behavior. But I hope an equal number of them were needed because of the other poster's behavior. :)

I agree. Sometimes even annoying people make good points.:laughing::laughing::laughing:

I do think the nature of the medium, and the fact we can only read words and do not have body language to read, leads to much of the negative issues. Also I think many people say things in "print" that they would never say to someone in person. It is also easy to take something out of context or the reader can emphasize a statement more than the writer intended. While this happens on TBN I don't see it happen often. Or maybe I am clueless?:laughing::laughing:

Dan

Good point. I have no idea.

If you ignore someone what happens when someone quotes their post?

You see their quoted post.. so ignoring someone does little good as you see a lot of their posts anyway. I have ignored one or two in the past, but it does no good. Not too many people get under my skin, but a couple have in the past. I will just have to get over it.

If you ignore someone what happens when someone quotes their post?

I don't know on TBN since I have never had to put some one on Ignore.

On the other site, you will see that the Ignored has made a post, which I do fine annoying.:laughing::laughing::laughing: I mean I am trying to IGNORE them! How can I IGNORE them if the site tells me the person I want to IGNORE has just posted?:D

Now if someone else quotes the IGNORED, you get to see what the IGNORED posted. <sigh>

Ignore only works so so.:laughing::laughing:

Cranky Posting??? Cabin Fever??? ... AH BITE ME!!!

My prize bull ran off the other day and came home a steer ... One of my sows had 11 pigs and laid on 12 .... My girlfriend found out about my wife ... Wife ran off with the hired hand ... I'm gonna miss him ... And to top things off I caught a winter cold.
