Was Billy The Kid left handed???

Actually no; he was thought to be left-handed based on the famous picture of him standing holding his rifle. Fact of the matter was the negative was reversed, making it appear that his side arm was on the left side. It was determined based on an examination of the rifle that the picture had been reversed.

Bout time some of you other folks ask a few questions> What ya think???

The most ungainly gun in the old TV westerns was Steve McQueen's cut off rifle, with the large loop lever.

Chuck Conner's in The rifle Man TV show.
Was there any practical reason to have a large loop lever?????

Were these the first or only big loop lever action rifles in old time westerns TV or Movies????

I think John Wayne's 92 had a large loop lever too. Operation of the firearm could be achieved with just one hand by spinning the rifle around the axis of the large loop lever to eject and load a fresh cartridge. I don't know how practical this really was, but it looked kinda cool for TV and movies.

That large loop is pretty handy if your wearing gloves.
