Wish there was a diesel version. HS

LOL. I cuss the 3 point and PTO regularly. I can swap out the front bucket without leaving the tractor but have to go back and beat rear attachments on getting on and off the tractor several times. Hooking up hydraulic hoses is a breeze compared to attaching driveshafts to a PTO as well, and gives you the option to reverse direction. Also having down pressure (which most 3 points hitches lack) is a huge advantage for things like running an auger.

I bought a quick tach for my three pint and often hook and unhook implements without getting off the tractor. (One of the advantages of not having a cab.) I've modified my pto's where necessary and now along with regular applications of WD-40 they slide on and off without any beating. You are working way to hard by the sounds of things

double post. I"m convinced they get paid by the post which is why they allow this to continue.

The beating is getting the 3 point attached, specifically the lower pins. Attaching a PTO shaft is simply awkward no matter how you slice it. Too many things in the way like 3 point arms, top link, 3 point linkage, pto guard, etc...

Construction equipment simply uses better and easier attachment methods. That is why you are seeing so many smaller tractors use skid steer QA on the front. SS QA'a are better than 3 points attachment, even 3 point QA's. And Hydraulic hoses are easier to hook up than PTO driveshafts. This isn't' just me. Go look at all the threads about what a PITA it is to get augers hooked up to 3 point hitches. You won't' find any about front mounted augers with SS QA and hydraulic drive. 3 point and PTO was really nice 50 years ago. Since then better things have been invented.

This is the SSQA on the Toolcat. It is plenty strong in a pulling application with a 6' high back box blade. <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/files/owning-operating/450808-what-would-you-like-see-p8280007-jpg"/> <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/files/owning-operating/450809-what-would-you-like-see-pic0828003-jpg"/> <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/files/owning-operating/450810-what-would-you-like-see-p7020023-jpg"/> <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/files/owning-operating/450811-what-would-you-like-see-p7020030-jpg"/> <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/files/owning-operating/450812-what-would-you-like-see-p7020032-jpg"/> <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/files/owning-operating/450813-what-would-you-like-see-p7020034-jpg"/>
The problem is the small pins at the bottom take most of the load. The Tool cat is lighter than a good sized tractor and has the tires turned the wrong way for maximum pulling power.

The discussion was to put a SSQA on the back of a tractor instead of a three point hitch.

I said the SSQA would be strong enough, and posted pictures to prove it.

The Toolcat weighs over 5800 pounds, has enough traction in reverse to fill a 6' box blade in hard red clay.

For maximum pulling power I can use the three point on the back.

This is a light weight low back 8' on the 5' wide Toolcat.

A good sized tractor weighs more than 5800 pounds. A 5800 pound tractor could pull harder than the tool cat. Another problem is the SSQA is too wide to fit between the back tires and allow enough clearance to hook up the pto,

My wish list would be the Industrial tractors that they all used to make. Only real industrial tractor is JD-210 and a Case 530?, Massey, Ford, Oliver, Allis Chalmers, and others all used to make heavy industrial tractors from 40-75 hp, in a heavy, low, body. Most came with steel wheel weights, loaders, high flow hydralics, power shuttle transmission; some had no 3 point and/or PTO, others had PTO and 3 pt, some even had down pressure (good for grading, not so much for plowing 800 acres). The JD-110 is gone, and the loader wasn't very heavy duty anyways. More Power shuttles in 40-60 HP range; people would drop the HST vs gear debate once and for all.
