Did you change the factory code for the remote controls when you installed to door to something different?

I'll second that. We had some remote control stuff for lighting and ours would occasionally go off and on by itself. I changed the house code from default and that stopped that. Assumed a neighbor had similar equipment.

Not familiar with that model but don't most of them now have the "intellicode" or something like that where the code changes each time it is used. Mine does and there are no DIP switches anymore to set the code.

They call it a "rolling" code and it has been around for awhile now. But who knows? I'd ask the neighbor to drive his truck over! Might just be one of those freaks of nature (I used the remote start on my truck once and a car in the parking lot started also!).

Yep, the chances of someone else opening and closing your door are pretty slim these days.

The wired wall controller is likely just a switch. Moisture, as someone already mentioned, might be causing a random short and opening/closing it. Another thing that comes to mind is rodents... any chance of that? A mouse nibbling on the control wire somewhere and shorting it out......?

Years ago I had my garage door open on it's own accord a couple of times. I had changed the code when I bought it just in case someone had an opener with the same factory code so I was confident that wasn't the cause. I decided my opener was picking up a signal from somewhere and so I cut off the antennae close to the box. That drastically shortened the distance the remote would operate at; I had to be within a few feet of the door for it to work but it always worked. No more coming home to an open garage after that. I also added a switch besides the man door that controls just the overhead door so I could easily power it down whenever I wished. Now I have so much crap in the garage I can't use it for a vehicle (I'm a bit of a hoarder )so the opener rarely gets turned on.

The bumper mechanical switch or pressure switch for the safety bar on the bottom of the door can make a door open. The photo cell eye too . If the is no functioning safety bypass for the last few inches of downward travel. I have seen some that just pushing the door down with make it open.

Its not the neighbors vehicle as far as I know. He was in his personal vehicle Sunday and his work van yesterday.
The rodent idea warrants checking although almost all of it is thru metal conduit.
Most times I have to be within 20 feet or so to get the remotes to activate the opener. It is in a all metal building and that affects the range somewhat. It does a better job when trying to close the door. Also closest house is about 300 feet away.
This opener uses the "Rolling Codes" or Intellicode system. No dip switches. All the remotes are in a different county. I will look in the instruction book and clear everything and re-bind the remotes.
As far as I know, I am the only radio operator on my street. I am second house from the end of it so not a lot of traffic.
When I get home I think I will try plugging in the opener while I am at home and may taking the battery out of the wireless keypad and unplugging the wired control and see what happens.

Several months ago I had a garage door opening randomly. It has a 3 year old Chamberlain opener with rolling codes. The photo cell eye turned out to be the problem. It had gotten out of alignment so it would randomly open the door. A spring clip is all that holds it in place so it just took a couple of seconds to line it up better. It has worked fine ever since.

Low battery in the outside wireless remote makes my Liftmaster trigger on its own. I use mine a lot so the battery life is short.

Would be a bugger if it was a manual transmission and it was left in gear - ouch !
