Tractor
2014/15 kioti dk40se hydro
Been looking at tractors a lot found a dk40se hydro 2015 bought in May 15 .dealer said he traded back in in July for a cab model had 46hrs on it . It was loaned to a corn maze place to pull a hay wagon . It now has 88 hrs . They have 20,995 on it does this seem about right . Just thinking about the rebates or free loader deals they might have had in May to see what it sold for new. Never owned a tractor but always wanted one , so I am not very knowledgeable . Any info greatly appreciated Thanks

Does the tractor have the KL401 loader on it? If so, it is a VERY good deal. if no, then um.. not so much just so so, and I would want to bargain for a lower price.. The tractor is a very good tractor and would serve you well.

Yes or does have the 401 loader thanks for replying

Well, if it has the loader, then that tractor is a bargain. If you ever wanted a tractor with these capabilities, then you need to jump on that one.

I paid 26k with BH for mine so your price looks good.

What year was it manufactured? This can be determined by the serial number. Just because it was sold in 2015, does NOT necessarily make it a 2015 'model year'. I take it it is a Tier 4 tractor? If you don't know ask the dealer to verify this info.
Whatever year it was manufactured, and if it is or isn't a Tier 4 unit, a DK-40 is one of Kioti's best tractors.
If you can get it, it would be an excellent tractor and would last you many years of service. I know, I have one with a backhoe, like Murph's.

They seem to vary between $1975 up to about $2275

I got a very good price as I dropped 40k at my dealer on 12/31 to make the year

Tier 3 is good news. Less stuff to go wrong.:confused3:
Verify with dealer, in writing, you will get full 4 year warranty on that unit.

Also, I suggest: if the rears aren't loaded, get it done before delivery.
And possibly consider a second set of rear remotes too.

it sounds like a pretty good deal as is... Does it have just the stock 1 rear remote, or are there two sets and two levers to operate them? There are not a whole lot of other options. You could ask for a filter set. They little horizontal Hydrostatic filter on the tractors left side is very expensive.

Free parts/labor on first major service. Records of services performed to date, free Kioti stuff, hat, jacket, etc.

Ok thanks they were suppose to check and see if 50 hr service had been done if not they said they would is there a way to tell if one has been done ? Since it was traded in at 46 hrs and been gone for last 2 months and 88 hrs now just don't want to be told it was done and really wasn't . Not sure on xtra rear remotes

Well, one way to tell if it was done, is to try to take the vertical hydraulic filter off by the right rear tire. If it takes all of your strength, and most of your curse words, to get the dang thing unscrewed, you will know it was put on by the factory gorilla. If it comes off pretty easy, well someone already went thru that ordeal. The filters aren't painted over like the Kubota's are. As near as I can tell. so it is kinda hard to tell just by looking at them. You will need a good big chain wrench for that right side hydraulic filter. It is a real SOB. The hydrostatic filter and the oil filter are no big deal usually. you need to at least clean the air filter too. maybe replace. The fuel filter needs looking at.

Most definitely a bargain!

If the dealer can provide a record of having done the 50 hr service, on paper with the hours evident, then you're all set.
I believe the OEM factory hydrostat filter is grey or black and the replacement ones are a yellowish color. That would be easier to verify, especially if you check a brand new tractor on the lot, instead of wrestling with the filter to see if it removes easily.:confused3:

My original Hydrostat filter was also the same Ocher/yellow color as the replacement. The horizontal high pressure hydrostat filter on the left side was easy to remove. The vertical hydraulic filter on the right side is the one that is tough to remove. I am not suggesting that you should try to remove the filter to determine if the 50 hour was done or not, as when you try to remove the filter, you will likely damage it. My point is that it will be very difficult to determine if the 50 hour was done or not, unless someone kept records of it.
