Are Chains a Must for a 3ph Blade on a BX1500 for snow?

I view a good set of chains like fire insurance. You hope you don't need them, but you'll be glad to have them if you do.

Hope u ave loaded tires. I push and blow snow and don't have chains but my rear tires are loaded with beet juice and I hardly spin a tire except when I use the loader to move snow banks..
