This is what happens when your 13 year old niece borrows your PJ Trailer for a week!

A week ago my 13 year old niece asked to borrow my PJ trailer for a school class project and being her godfather... there was no way I could refuse... I was not even home at the time and told her where to pick it up.

I caught a glimpse of it going down main street today with a police escort.

Only question I have is has anyone seen my tip up loading ramps???

I knew someone would see the tongue jack!

Last year my neighbor asked if his 40 year old son could borrow my trailer to pick up a tractor he bought down near Santa Cruz... now this neighbor is the same one that saw my S10 all hitched up with a smaller trailer when I bought my Kubota and insisted I take his Excursion for the 400 mile round trip up to the mountains and back... he trailers a 24 tag box trailer for his business every week.

Long and short... there was no way I could say no... when it came back it was bent... he forgot to put the clip on the drop down leg and it dropped... never got around to fixing it and no one has asked to use it again.

She has a younger sister in middle school and one finishing grade school... I can see quite a few parade floats in my trailer's future... don't know what will happen when I will have two of them in High School at the same time?

My niece is the one that asked for a Milwaukee 18v drill set when she was 8 and her parents said OK... just wish my brother was not the one always using it... at least he has to ask her first!

Hey Eddie... I was thinking my post might bring back memories...

Trailer is made by PJ trailers in Sumner TX and was part of the package deal when I bought my Deere 110 TLB

I have never used it to move the 110 because I don't have enough truck to pull it loaded...

Castro Valley is still Castro Valley although the downtown keeps getting upgraded and the High School now has a real football field and performing arts center... CV still has the old one screen movie theater on the Boulevard...

The rural feel is slowly fading but it still has just about the last Rodeo going in the region with main street parade and a couple of saddle shops too...

I had planned to move from Oakland to Castro Valley back in 2012... found the perfect property out Palomares Canyon and for 59 days I was the back up offer..... being the town is unincorporated county, it just seemed to be a better fit... prices have gone up anywhere from 50 to 100% in the last 4 years....

I never lost my trailer, but I lost about half of my pole barn for three Septembers in a row. Great fun to watch the kids working on it.

Ramps were back installed as if nothing happened... so someone was paying attention.

Imagine the two ramps sticking up in the air would have detracted from the float.

The Freshman class received 4th place and said they will do better next year...

Funny thing is almost all those working to build the float are girls...

Update...

Here is a picture of my PJ flat bed trailer disguised as the Junior High School Homecoming Float October 2017.

Last year the then Sophomores won Homecoming... this year second place.

My niece uses my PJ trailer more than I do...

Two things....

1. Wow, nice work! Those kids obviously worked very hard on that.

2. Hard to tell, but is that trailer jack still tilted forward two years later?

Yep it is... the neighbor that borrowed it said he would fix it... still waiting.

I the scheme of things they are great neighbors... so a bad jack isn't the end of the world... plus it also means not having to lend out anymore equipment.

I have a new one but figured no rush to install...

The kids did work had... and very talented... in 3 years they earned a First, Second and Third place...
