Hydraulics were erratic on the loader. Operating the control valve to raise and lower the bucked caused the bucket to lift slowly or not at all. Hydraulic fluid is at proper level. I loosend one of the hoses at the valve, started the engine and worked the valve thinking there was debris in the valve. Pumped some oil out and shut down the engine. The next day I cranked it back up and the hydraulics did not work at all. No movement at all and now no pressure from a loosened line at the valve. The pump was also making a new noise for the past couple days. I was thinking the pump was bad and tried to get the pump off but could not get to the top-inside bolt to loosen it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have had erratic loader functions at times with my L3710DT. Every time the problem has been that the selector valve for loader has been positioned incorrectly. For some reason the valve rotates on its own. I think it has to with overloading the loader. The valve is near the hydraulic filter and I think it needs to be horizontal to correctly supply the loader hydraulics. Check the manual. Good luck I hope yours is this simple fix also.

Thank you SimS. I checked the selector valve and it was in the vertical position. The manual says it should be vertical for loader operation so that isn't my problem. I will try to remove the pump if I can get that top inside bolt out that I am having trouble getting a socket or wrench on. I certainly appreciate your help.

SimS, I wonder if you would look at that selector valve on your tractor and tell me which position it is in, horizontal or vertical. Even though the manual shows the valve should be vertical for loader operation, I decided to take your advice and turn it horizontal. The loader then worked if the three point position selector was all the way back. If I lowered the position lever just an inch, the hydraulics to the loader quit. (that at least tells me the pump is OK) So now I'm not sure where to look next. At least I don't have to worry about removing the pump.
