Buying Advice Looking for CK30 or CK35

So latest developments.....the used DK35 cannot be bought under 30k, he is firm at 30k. New 2015 CK3510 is now same price with the exception of the sales tax.
Still a good deal to go used DK??

I'd get the used DK myself. Nothing wrong with the CK though.

I think the CK 3510 is pretty much the modern version of the DK you're looking at. So basically if you buy the new one you just will not get the snowblower or the cab and will have to pay sales tax. Technically you're supposed to pay the sales tax on the used one anyway so let's not count that as any value. So that only leaves the value of a used cab and a used snowblower if I understand you correctly. I would not buy used in this instance because you would not have The benefit of a warranty plus 600 hours is not a lot but it's not a new machine. I would guess the value of a used cab around 1500 bucks depending on the features it has that's what I paid for mine the problem will be finding one to fit. I seriously doubt you'll find one but a new one will probably be around 4 to 6 grand depending on factory or aftermarket. As far as the used snow blower value I usually don't like to pay a whole lot more than half of what I can get a new one for. In my opinion the risk of the used machine for that little of a price difference does not weigh out enough to not go with new. That being said if you do go new try to swing for a cab if you can you probably won't regret it.

I didn't think there was any choice with the DK35. Don't recall the loader number but there is only one. As you know the DK40se has the KL401 but I don't know if the naming standard means the DK35se has the KL351 or not. I do recall it lifts a max of about 1500lbs.

Never heard that before. Are you aware if anyone has put a KL401 on a DK35. That was the main reason I went to DK40se so my dealer (Rick Wallace) certainly didn't think it was an option. I wonder of Tractor Data is wrong. I don't recall the Kioti website ever listing two loaders as being compatible with the DK35. Most Kioti tractors have a single dedicated loader option.

Isn't tractor data known for getting things like that wrong? I'm pretty sure the 35 has a lower power loader than the 40+, and is not exchangeable. k0ua would know.

For the OP, I still think a lightly used DK35HC with loader and backhoe at same price is better than a CK3510 new OOS loader and backhoe. Besides, 30K is too much for the CK anyway.

You do have your facts on the new/used tractor straight indeed. A new cab is in the $9000 range here in Canada so going new really adds to the cost of going new unfortunately.

We seem to pay a premium in Canada for items manufactured in the States, as well we are facing nearly a 30% increase on the dollar exchange.

I'll be mainly using the tractor for landscaping the property and shaping the property driveway, building a garage, and snow removal in the winter months, no farming tasks like cutting or bailing hay.

I don't think the frames are all that different. The DK35 was always a step down from the DK40 in more than HP. It was basically a CK35 with an in between loader and DK features. Kioti thought there was too much overlap so they discontinued it and left the CK35, which is now replaced by the CK3510.

I'd say that the DK35 is closer to the DK40 in size than the CK35. As I recall the length of the DK35 and 40 are the same and the operator station is the same. The DK40 has bigger axles and bigger tires/wheels so it rides a few inches higher but the parking size is the same as the DK35 and considerably bigger than the CK.

The DK 35 SE was bigger in size, weight than the CK 35. Also had a higher lift capacity loader, lifts more on the 3 point, had 38 HP (vs the CK's 34 HP) and could take the 2485 backhoe.
I believe it also had a higher GPM hydraulic flow than the CK.

Agree. Indeed, as the DK40 only has 3 extra HP, the real difference between them are the axles. The bigger front axle is what makes the DK able to mount the 2700lb loader instead of the 1500 lb version.

I regret not looking at the new DK's replacement more thoroughly, but I found the perfect size in the CK3510. The 2510's seemed like a toy, as much as i'ed love the size in tight woods. Amazingly the 3510 has a tighter turning radius than the 2510. The new 3510 also listed a 1800 lb loader lift capacity at pins, and 3400 lbs breakout. Bigger is usually better, but I also noted the new 3510 is wider then the DK models. Actual owners know which is more stable, but by the numbers that was something I noticed. But I still plan to order rear offsets anyway, and actual width with different tires varies.
