this was the old style where i tried to get the plow in as tight to the machine as possible, the new design welded tabs to the front of the QA plate and had pins that the plow could freely rotate on.

Somewhere online I saw side panels made for a plow that turn it into a push box , they were removable .

sprinklerman-any idea where you saw those at? It would save me alot of fabrication work. I have seen the plow wings that kept the spillage down but they weren't perpendicular plates.

Snow Wolf plows has removable sides on a p/a plow. The end panels shown is what I made up. I just used their mounting points. Their newer models have side panels that are (I think) "drive in" type that you roll the plow downward & hook the end ppanels that are hooked together and will stand there. Similat to a set of "drive in forks" like you would use on a wheel loader or backhoe. Pretty slick.

My sides on my pusher are 30 or 32" I believe and my tractor chained up could push the box with 40+ inch sides. I have built a couple of different pushers for my old company and they were 10' wide with 5' or 6' sides and the loaders [16-20k range] would push them full of snow without chains with no problems. I may extend the sides on mine. CJ

Just some thoughts on this:

I think the frame work on the QA plate is part of the problem. The more float you try to adjust in by curling down, the more float you are actually taking out and raising the back of the A frame, increasing your roll angle. The framework looks good to reduce overall length of the machine, but I think its the problem. When mounted, is the loader pins in front of the plow A frame pins?

A simple way to test would be to mount the plow on another QA plate with the pin ears welded on to the bottom of the plate. With slack in the chain and the A frame level, it should be just fine.

Crashz, I had the plow mounted in two different variations. I copied another members idea and brought the pivot pins mounting location well behind the QA plate by using 2x4 in an "L" shape to clear the loader parts. That kept the plow in close and would do what you are describing. I also cut that all off and welded short tabs to the front of the QA plate towards the bottoms for the plow pins and the tripping problem didn't get any better. It also made the plow stick out entirely to far for my liking!

My Western plow has adjustable pads towards the ends of the blade to control the height so it won't 'dig in'. It will also rotate if I go into a snow bank hard with one side of the blade. I just click it back with the remote in the heated cab of my truck. Like you, no more plowing snow exposed to the elements!

Yup mine does the same. I figured just a safety thing

I'm thinking the same thing, I'm lost here, are those two last pics the final outcome now,
or are you modifying this again? As it is now, it seems that when the plow is sitting, like in the pic, thats the way it should plow but when you raise it, like noted, the plow pins will raise and change the geometry of the plow. A picture with the plow "on" the tractor would have helped more.
I'm sure you'll figure it out.
