Another trailer yaw instability. Another woman driving. At the same exact location of the previous trailer crash last week.

http://www.livingstondaily.com/stor...ne-township/2015/08/07/tyrone-crash/31278419/

There is an explanation. Same as why airplanes crash: Multiple conditions that add up to a bad day.

I don't know why you felt the need to point out a woman driver, but anyway, I found this part of the article interesting: "The trailer rolled an unknown number of times and exploded, said Undersheriff Michael Murphy." The trailer exploded?!

A stick built travel trailer isn't exactly trough or designed for significant lateral forces. I whether or not a fire started or an detonation happened, it's going to look like it "exploded" after more than 1 roll.

Unless it was a propane explosion (IMO, possible, but not likely) it might have been better phrased as "......broke apart into many pieces...." . Most RV trailers are basically kleenex boxes on wheels - not really designed for heavy horizontal loads or roll-over survivability.

Good reminder to all, experienced at towing or not.

Not towing but a trailer of sorts is involved.

A trailer came loose from an F-250 with tragic consequences in upstate SC. You would expect someone on the side of the road to be killed by a rogue trailer, but certainly not someone standing in metal shed. There is a video of the scene at the link, but no mention of how it came loose.

PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. —Investigators say a trailer detached from a pickup truck, smashed into a thrift store and killed a man Saturday afternoon.

The coroner says the victim, Brian Keith, 48, of Easley, died at the scene from blunt force trauma.

He was helping a customer at a thrift shop for Home with a Heart when he died. Officials say the customer was not injured.

According to state troopers, a Ford F-250 was pulling a trailer along Saco Lowell Road just outside the Easley city limits about 12:15 p.m.

Investigators say the trailer became unhitched from the truck, went off the left side of the road, sideswiped a parked car, went down an embankment and crashed through the metal building housing a thrift shop for Home with a Heart.

The shop is one of five owned by Home with a Heart, a rehabilitation center for men struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.

Troopers have not said whether the driver would face charges.

I saw a genius today trying to load a new holland skid steer onto a landscape trailer towed by an 80's model Chevy 1/2 ton truck. When I saw him the truck wheels were about 4 feet in the air. The skid steer probably weighed at least 7,000 pounds. It would have been a good load on my gas F350.
