The tensioner under the seat pulls on this which tightens the springs at the same rate pulling the seat up for heavier people and more bounce. I have a replacement almost built.

Part is made. Just need to install now. All out of aluminum. This should never break.

Mine broke this summer as well, how much was it to make? My dealer said the same I needed to buy whole unit.

Sorry for this taking so long to get back to you. I thought I had notifications working but I guess not. I think the guy charged me $35.00 dollars to make. I gave him cash so I can't remember for sure. I doubt this one will ever break break. It is made out of aluminum.
