0th cup of coffee, but that is normal for me. Hot today but less humid.

Probably will do the Win10 upgrade today.

I have always been a Dave Ramsey sort of person, even before I ever heard of him. I'll feel even better when the HELOC is paid off, it;'s got a pole barn and a few other things on it. I'd pay it off aggressively if it wasn't for college tuition. My son does go to a reasonable priced (by todays standards) college in Arkansas. So farmer2009, I'll be heading down past you in a few weeks to drop him off. He's studying computer engineering, and I don't qualify for any help in paying the bills. I'd like to get him and my other one thru college without massive loans. You do get penalized for saving for college, it's best to go in with massive debt, but I can't live like that.

Congrats Dave on the new vehicle. I have 2 vehicles paid for and under half to go on the 3rd. Unfortunately I will need another probably within the year. I'm looking for one of those bargain low mileage slightly used vehicles, I never seem to find them. Have 290K on my work vehicle. I just replaced 2 catalytic converters to get it past emissions testing, so that's good for 2 more years. It needs new front tires. Overall it's in pretty good shape for the mileage. One concern is the transmission, the light was blinking some last summer, was a little low in fluid. Has been fine ever since.

Well, better get something done today.

What kind of car do you have 290K miles on? Do you work on it yourself when you can? I commute a long way and I'm always interested to hear stories from others whom have driven high mileage on their cars.

RNG, how much for a beemer master cylinder? I remember having to make a new piston for my RD400 yamaha's caliper. I didn't have chrome plating available, so I made it out of stainless steel. The parts weren't available anymore.

That looks more like a barge than a boat. :) Those front lounge chairs look comfy.

Sodamo, I promise not to tell anyone that my buddy in Hawaii uses his heated seats in his SUV.

It was 105 today in Victoria Texas. Don, I don't know if we got any rain here or not. Can't really tell anything like the gravel road being freshened up after a good rain, erasing the tire tracks.

2005 Honda pilot.
Mostly normal maintenance. Just replaced the original front rotors. I drive 100+ miles each day.

The late night party happened after all. I was dragging butt there for a while, but I've caught my 2nd wind now. Just a couple more hours to go.

We had a nice hour long shower here in Blountstown this afternoon, but just a few drops at the Larro Ranchero {according to Mamma}.

This morning in the library a man heard me talking to one of the librarians about a Ralph Cotton series featuring Texas Rangers. He came over and recommended a non-fiction book, Lone Star Justice, the First Century of the Texas Rangers, by Robert M. Utely. I'm reading it tonight. While I'm not a big fan of non-fiction, it is an interesting book.

On the subject of long commutes, my Dad drove over 100 miles per day for years. But back then 150K was a good run for most cars. He was a stevedore and worked the docks, so the salt air rusted the bodies off his cars before they gave up the ghost. He had a '69 Falcon station wagon that you could see daylight through. It had the transmission rebuilt twice and the motor once. My commute on the other hand is 13.7 miles from my polebarn to my parking place here at the Civic Center. 15 minutes most days.

Good Morning. Having a quiet breakfast before Daughter and family arrive. I have brought sheep over to the field by the house so grandson can help take them up to the pens and sort for market.

It was 105 today

105  . Guess the folk in your area won't have much need for heated car seats this week. Does everyone have air conditioning in their homes ?

Drinking first cup of coffee. 59° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 87° with afternoon thundershowers. Got company coming today. Need to setup picnic table and chairs.
Good Morning All.

58 right now...high of 82 predicted. No rain in the prediction today.
Not sure what I'm going to do today. I need to hit areas in the field with the rotary cutter. Well, there's a lot I could do...these 11-12 hour days at work are wearing me down and I can't say I have a lot of motivation to get off my *** on the weekend days. Fortunately, this customer problem I've been dealing with (and causing all the extra hours) is ramping down. My part of the problem (solution, actually) will be done in the next week or two. There are repercussions that will be ongoing, but those will not take excessive effort.

55F. Low-80's today and no chance of rain. We are still a bit behind on rainfall but a downpour on Thursday really helped. Looks like a nice cooling spell is coming after Tuesday.

Have a good one.

64 and sunny heading to 87.

Roy, glad you're seeing light at the end of the tunnel. A ride on your tractor with the hum of the cutter should be therapeutic.

Kyle, my 2001 4Runner has 365K miles and never had a real problem - one water pump and the usual oil/tires/brakes/battery/shocks replaced...still runs great. Doesn't have heated seats, though, and the CD player quit this year, so back to radio and cassettes!!
