Front came thru yesterday, lots of heavy rain, but now it is still hot but less humid.

Dave, glad the finger is getting better, that looks nasty.

Paid my last mortgage payment this week, and next to last tractor payment. Still have a home equity loan to pay down, but right now the "extra" money has to go straight to the college fund.

Congrats on getting rid of two payments! I don't think the price of college (for its value) has ever been as stiff as it is now. I'm truly glad we are past that stage of life. Our oldest son went to WPI (Wooster Polytech) 1982-86. I see the cost of tuition, room, meals and fees now is more than double what is was then. Yikes!

Congrats, that's great news.
Got another yr to go on 1st, 4 on ELOC, paying down debt was my rationale for taking SS at 62. Costs of college these day, one has to weigh the benefits.

We aren't very picky on the colors. Sharon didn't really like the blue, red would have been okay with both of us, Silver - meh. It will do.

It has the All Weather package (windshield wiper de-icer, heated side mirrors, heated front seats), splash guards, auto dimming mirror with compass, rear seat backs guard, and Weather Tech molded vinyl floor mats which I would have bought online if they weren't there already. They are very nice for catching mud, melting snow and slush or driveway topping grit.

Sharon would have liked leather seats but those are only on the Limited model for quite a bit more money.

We added splash guards and side moldings. I wanted wheel moldings but they stop offering those as an option. That flat area around the wheels looks like a good place for dings in a parking lot. We use our heated seats about 10 times a year, I keep forgetting we have them. I have a heat shield for the sun roof that is always there and one for the windshield when we park in the summer. The black steering wheel gets too hot to touch. The Subaru dealer said a lot of ranchers buy their wives the Forester - very low key sales - if you don't want it someone else will.

Good morning. Yesterday I put off weed wiping because they ammended the forecast for a shower of rain in the afternoon - which never came.

Today was set to be fine, then an hour ago they changed it to show chance of rain later. Hard to say what is best, so I will let a coin decide - heads I wipe, tails I don't.





Right then, better go, I'm wiping.

Coffee is done brewing. 59° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 80° with some light clouds. Need to take some time today and pickup branches and debris from a storms that brew threw this week.

70 going up to 91 today in clear but sticky weather. Showers came through last night, everything is just steaming out now.
Houseguests return this afternoon for their home trip from Myrtle Beach but this time I'm not cooking and they can take me out to dinner. Off to go food shopping and then will do some tree watering and hose off the porches.

I can see adjusting money trying to qualify for grants but whats the purpose to try to qualify for loans? You have to pay those back.

You apply for "Aid" and they decide how much of it will be grants and the rest is loans.

It seems like all of that dealer's cars have the All Weather package. Heated seats probably won't get used much by us either since it will be kept in a garage. I think that would be a nice comfort item for a car parked outside overnight at 10F, but a lot of people use remote starters now to avoid those first 5 minutes of teeth chattering and window scrapping. Ya, the dealership was busy and not having to work very hard to sell cars by all appearances.

55F this morning headed to 77F. Chance of a passing shower this afternoon.

76 going to 82 with 100% chance of rain. the air is so thick you can cut it. Have been so busy the last couple of weeks and have to work this weekend.

Buckeye - Congratulations on the payoff. Your kids are lucky, my parents made all of us find our own way to further our education.

Dave - Congratulations on the Forrester!!! I wanted one so bad when I was kayaking, only to find I could not fit in it comfortably (6'-2" 285#) Hence my F-250
