Ford 335 3 point hitch not working

I have recently purchased a 1976 Ford 335 industrial tractor with a 3 point hitch problem. It's not working. I have replaced the hydraulic pump which was bad and have opened the hatch to the 3 point hitch under the seat, inspected and cleaned most everything. I found no broken parts, just dirt oil. The pump is working to the auxiliary control unit because I can here the engine work. But no 3 point movement. Does anyone have experience with this problem that they can help me with?

i don't know your tractor, and the parts diagrams stink. it almost looks there is 2 pumps 1 for FEL (front end loader) and rear hydraulic remotes, then maybe one other pump just for the 3pt hitch. the second pump drawing fluid from the rear end? or am i just scrambling the part diagrams up?

are you seeing hoses run from "rear remote hydraulic valves" to 3pt hitch valve? or are the 2 valves complete seperate and no hoses / pipes running between them?

i am also wondering, if you may need the "PTO" engaged. for the 3pt hitch to work.

Well, I don't totally understand how this messaging works but if I am doing it right you will get a note telling you that I resolved my issue with the 3 point hitch. It turns out that someone? ahead of me had taken the tractor apart and put it back together incorrectly. I disassembled the 3 point hitch linkage and put it together the way it was meant to be, re-assembled it and it worked. The lesson for me in this is to not assume you have been told everything about the tractor from a previous owner and don't start replacing parts until you have checked the entire system first. I hope this helps someone.
