Buying Advice Ready to buy a Kioti RX I think

I use 3 work tractors pretty much daily. A JD 4320 hydro MFWD which is my everyday driver. I have a similar JD hydro setup for my own tractor so it is like second nature to me, and there is a also a collar shift 85hp 2WD to use which generally is my last resort, ;)

But I do really like the big KUB M9000 with power shuttle we have. It takes a few minutes for me to get acclimated when I switch tractors (clutching, control positions etc.) but once I'm adjusted, the shuttle shift is sweet. Its easy use to change direction, has good let out. (we are on steep hills ALL the time) I am very comfortable on it...sometimes its much better than a hydro.

Sounds like a great buy :D

I would highly recommend a CAB.

Keeping yourself out of the elements, bugs, especially the biting and stinging kind... Cold, Heat, Rain, Snow... Dust. And I'm pretty confident that my cab has saved me from losing an eye or two, and probably a few concussions as well.

I'd rather sacrifice the little time that it takes to be careful around trees, and cutting low branches as you come upon them... Than sacrifice the convenience and comfort of a factory cab.

Good luck!

Also check out a Massey 4608 if you have a dealer nearby.

I agree with TSO, a cab will help protect you from the elements, insects, allergens and INJURY. And if properly maintained, the added cost of the cab will be recaptured if you trade or sell.

I think I could swing the cab but I'm just worried I'd be destroying it or would be mad everytime I dent it, break a window or whatever. I know I've read that guys that have them seem to love them and wouldn't go back. I still have a lot of limbs and would like to make new trails so I just worry about beating it up. Our winters are pretty mild with limited snow so I'm not too worried about winter. I went to school in the Upper peninsula of Michigan so compared to that Indiana winters feel like Florida to me. If anything I think I would like the cab in the summer for AC and to fend off the flies and mosquitos. Hopefully I don't regret going open but I haven't ordered it yet. Supposed to meet the owner at the shop Saturday to close the deal. Glad to hear the reinforcement on the shuttle shift. I keep hearing most guys say it's not quite as easy as a hydro but pretty close. Guarantee it's easier than the IH I have with the worn out clutch. Think I'm doing ok on price to but not much to compare it with other than list prices on tractor house or other brand quotes I got.

Trust me: get the cab and purchase a Jameson blue slick pole saw with a 14" fantail saw head.

Ok thanks for the advice. Regarding the cat 2 I'm assuming my grader box will be fine so that's a plus. It's pretty old and really stout/heavy. The bush hog is like a 1978 bush hog squealer, 6 foot I believe. Seems pretty durable but I have broken a couple shear pins already but maybe thats normal. Then again I don't think my existing tractor was given it much power/rpms either so maybe that messes with it to? Just a thought. If/when I buy a tiller or other implements I'll buy cat 2 I guess.

I'll have to look into a cab. I'm assuming that will be 5 or 6k more ballpark anyway. Still on the fence with that one. Sounds stupid but on a nice day I would kind of like to be out in the elements but obviously all the other not so nice days are a different story.

I have had the RX6620 since the first of the year. Love it. Have never needed more power, using it to cut and bale hay and whatever else comes up.

I think it all depends on your use. If you're really going to be cutting the entire pasture I would go cab without a doubt. I was mowing in 100 degree weather last weekend and the dust was crazy. I came out of the cab feeling better than before I started for sure. I have A 8' cutter and could go up to a 12' batwing.

Personally, I like the smaller size of my Grand L and HST while mowing high brush was nice. I do a lot of inching within my barns and around trees. That said, If I ever go bigger (90-100hp) it will be hard to give this one up and will probably end up keeping it.

If you're gonna do any hay work, go big no question.

Also take into consideration transport. Takes a lot more to move utility tractors. Truck/trailer or service visits.

Sorry, one more thought. Again, be sure to size based on what you're actually going to do with it. I don't think you can say, I've got 200 acres and need this size. Especially since 170 are wooded.

You may need smaller to get around your woods. Only u can answer.

Not trying to talk u down a size just throwing out thoughts.

Yeah I started with those thoughts. Maybe it's the value guy in me. Just seems to me the DK and NX's are almost the same price and the RX's seem to be a better value but obviously if a person has a need for a smaller footprint then that's a different story.
