2015 Z06 Corvette at Big Mac

This picture of the Mackinac Bridge was taken from the shore of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The bridge is 5 miles long and represent the artificial divider of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. They do maintenance work on it all summer in preparation for our harsh winters. If you look carefully at my license plate you will see the two bridge tower. It uses the same design as the golden gate bridge in San Francisco.

Having driven across that bridge several times, I know where that picture was taken from. Nice looking Vet. You don't get to drive it that much up there. Do you put it on blocks for the winter? Pay for only a few months of car insurance on it?

Sweet car, nice bridge. Just put that same plate design on my trusty, rusty old Ford truck. Definitely looks better on your car!

Yes, I owned a 2001 Z06, a 2007 Z06 and now the 2015 Z06. Each was nicer than the previous one. I just sold the 2007 last week and I took the picture below of the 2 together.

I'm not a big fan of heights. I've probably been over that thing 5-6 times. That bridge still gives me the willeys with the one open grate lane. I'd rather be on a boat looking up at it! :thumbsup:

I was thinking the same thing -- the new model looks more like a "European super car" than previous models. However, my knowledge in this matter is limited to what I have seen by occasionally catching an episode of Top Gear on BBC America.

It was between yellow and gray. I didn't even consider red.

I have a good friend who refuses to drive over the bridge. We have a mutual friend who comes up here close to where she is from and she is willing to ride with him. I don't understand the fear. As you may know they spend all summer doing maintenance on the bridge. I remember once I took my nephew across the bridge on my motorcycle and when we were on the grates, I told him to look down. It is the same effect as looking through a moving fan. It did freak him out a bit.

Do they still have the service to drive people across that are too afraid too on their own? When my job required me and others to take equipment up to Sault Ste Marie, I had to always drive across the bridge as the others would refuse too. I really liked it when the clouds would be down around the top arch of the road bed.

Yep. And its apparently free, too.

It's a fear of falling 20 stories off a bridge and dying in a car at the bottom of a deep lake. :laughing:
