What to do in Indiana??

I'll second the Holiday World amusement park at Santa Claus, IN. It's been voted the cleanest park in America many times. Free soda pop, too. They have at least 4 very good wooden roller coasters and I think they've added some other attractions. They have a nice water park there, too. Its an extremely family friendly, safe, clean park. :thumbsup:

Louisville has a zoo, too.

Marengo caves is fun.

Falls Of The Ohio state park has some of the largest exposed fossil beds on earth. However, with all the rain in the midwest, I'd bet the Ohio river has covered them for now. Call before you go.

I'm more interested in concrete statuary that's worth the drive!!! What are you getting and do you have a link to what they have?

Here's the story behind this trip. About 22 years ago my wife found concrete statuary of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. Snow White is about 4 feet tall and the Dwarfs are about 2 feet tall. At the time we only had the money to buy Snow White and 3 Dwarfs, so we put the other 4 Dwarfs in layaway with a deposit. We went back about a month later to pick up the other 4 and they had sold them. They apologized, we got our money back, and they said they could not make any more. The story was Disney only allowed them to produce so many and then they had to destroy the molds. Who knows if that story is true. We have looked for these other 4 Dwarfs for 22 years. Fast forward 22 years, we found them. South of Kansas City is a small Statuary run by a woman out in the middle of nowhere. We bought some chickens about a month ago from her and I asked her where she got her statuary. She said a place in Indiana. I started looking on the internet and found it, The Concrete Lady - Home They don't call them Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, but they are the same thing. So I called, we paid for them over the phone and are heading out there July 24th to pick them up. They have tons of Statuary, I'm sure we will buy more once we see what all they have.

I'm a fan of statues and yard art. My wife collects ferries and anything whimsical, so whenever we drive by a place that has them, we try to stop and see what's there. They just add a level of fun to the garden that we enjoy.

Please post pics of all the Dwarfs when you get them.

I always forget about Falls of the Ohio because I've never visited it myself. But yes, the river is WAY high right now. Crossed it last night on the way to Menards in Owensboro and it's out of the banks in places. Could be a different story by the time kcflhrc makes his trip.

You should see it. When the water is down, you just walk out onto these massive flat rocks. Then all of a sudden it hits you - the rocks are made of fossils. Thousands and thousands of fossils in thousands of table-size rocks. Very impressive.

I second this. Auburn is great! Not only the ACD museum but also the National Auto and Truck museum (NATMUS) which is very impressive but obviously different focus than the ACD. Then you have the Victory Museum which is a tremendous WW II museum that I saw when it was IN Bastogne but has now been brought to the US. Much more variety and than any other WW II museum. Of course while there you can see the Batmobile, KITT, and many other famous TV cars, stagecoaches and other vehicles. It is well worth the drive!

Well, if you're going to northern Indiana, and you're into cars, and you've already been to the Auburn, Cord, Dusy museum, head west.... there's the Hudson museum in Shipshewana
