70 heading to 87...a bit cooler than last few days. Caught a few drops from the edge of a t-storm last evening.

More mowing today. Had to cut at highest setting yesterday due to how thick and still damp the grass was from the rains.

Saw a green snake hanging from a tree yesterday - first one I've seen in years. Glad to know they are still around.

The phoebes are feeding their young constantly - fledging coming soon.

76 degrees going up to 94 today, and my second floor a/c unit quit last night. Compressor just stopped outside. Made emergency call to hvac folks and left a message. Thankfully downstairs two units still work but they are running pretty constantly in this heat, plus now the second floor is 81 degrees. Only reason to go upstairs is my office, so not going to chat long as I'm already starting to sweat. I put the circulating fan on; that helped a bit. I hope I have better luck than Wingsprd; this Trane unit is only about five years old.

I have one last little bit of trimming to do outside, will do it early, hose off the front and rear porches, and then call it quits. Leaving about 2pm to go get my friend coming in to town from PA on the train.

thanks for the video on fishing knots. I'll watch it several times. They always make it look so easy...

58F headed to low 80's today. Yesterday clouded up so much it stayed in the low 70's. Sunday is supposed to be near 90F.

The Ford has an appointment for an oil change this morning. Later today I will mount the backhoe on the tractor and get started digging out rocks in the field that stick up too high and are too big to take out with the FEL bucket. I've gotten over the whole field now with the hand rock picking and getting the surface stuff cleaned up by rooting around with the FEL bucket.

Enjoyed our day trip yesterday lots of sights and sounds to see. Great dinner in McClenonsville last night. Spelling may be wrong but old fishing village very neat. Today will be beach time

Good morning, a chilly 59F heading to 79F. Rode my bike to work for the first time today, a 4 km ride took about 12 minutes, no real traffic to deal with but this afternoon's ride home may be a different story.

78 this morning and headed to 93. Hopefully we don't see the 93. We're packing up to head back to Kentucky. Return trip will be a two day trip. But we will be making some detours. Going to take wife over to Okeechobee and then up through central Florida not back up the coast like we came down.

If you want to give your neighbours some amusement, leave the hook off completely and have a go at practicing to cast on your lawn.

Used to do that when I wanted peace and quiet.
Go out to the pond, hook on a bobber and sinker, NO HOOK OR BAIT, cast it out, lean back and enjoy several beverages and not be disturbed. When someone would come along I'd say "Shush, you'll scare the fish".

Just don't reel it in when someone's looking.

I have office relief today. Got here almost an hour ago. The boss is home waiting for the Maytag Man. The time slot to expect him was All Day. I'm always happy to get extra hours. I'll read and listen to concerts on You Tube. {I have the 7-19-14 Big Head Todd and the Monsters show on now} Then parties tonight, tomorrow and Sunday.
