Kubota 5030 HST problem

With my similar L4330, it behaves the same way in High range. High range is like starting off in 5th gear and overdrive! It's only suitable on the road, and even then only on mostly level ground. For anything where high torque is needed (driving into a pile or much of a grade) I use LOW range exclusively. Mine has been that way since new.

Exactly. I am pretty sure there isn't even a problem at all. Hi gear is not made for doing work, it is for transporting on flat ground at higher speeds, preferably unloaded without hills. Of course the tractor is going to bog down when you try to load it heavily in high range. Think of it this way, take an engine that makes half the power of a VWbug. Now put it in top gear,and drive it into a pile of material. Yep it will bogdown

My neighbor saw me fiddlin' with the tractor in my shop last night so he stopped over. As luck would have it his nephew is a Kubota technician.

His nephew was at my shop within 1/2 hour. As soon as he started it up he said a cylinder is not firing. I asked him if he wanted to drive it. He said nope, it's not a tranny problem, it's an engine problem. He took the injectors out and took them to work to test today. He thinks an injector is bad. I hope...

I just had a problem with my backpack blower intermittently bogging down after it was warmed up. Turned out to be the fuel filter, couldn't suck fuel fast enough, which brings me to my point. My bx has an HST filter and also a screen to catch filings before they damage the HST. Does your Kubota have a screen, is it too clogged, can't suck fluid fast enough? Has it damaged the HST? Some things to look into. Hope it's helpful.
