Hello. I'm new to this site, new to tractors and new to living out in the country. It's a lot of hard work but I enjoy it. I'm looking forward to gaining some knowledge and figuring out how stuff works.

To TBN YVS from Alabama. So, did you retire or just take up farming? How much land do you have?

Welcome to the forum. How is the new life treating you so far? :)

I just retired from the Air Force. I'm not retired from employment, just taking a break before I find a real job. We have 84 acres with about 400 fruit trees, 200 pecan trees, 4 acre pond, 24 chickens, and 4 donkeys. Most of the pasture is leased out for cattle. Life is great, I move from one project to the next. My biggest challenge right now is to get rid of grasshoppers that are plaguing my fruit trees. We are trying to stay organic. I am using Surround WP. I just need a more heavy duty application system (my 12 volt pump just ain't cutting it). I'll be posting on the appropriate forum for help on that subject.

Thanks for your service. How many years and where stationed? It's funny how I was thinking that might be the case. You will find, like I did, that you will work much harder now. Maybe not as many hours but pretty close.

I was aircrew, and yes I was deployed a lot, I don't have enough fingers to count them all. I'm glad that's overwith!!

What aircraft? Long deployments or more shorter ones?
