I hope I'm doing the right thing here, but;
To my knowledge, my tractor only has 1 big horizontal hydraulic filter next to the frame. (by the passenger rear tire) Am I not seeing the vertical one or does my tractor only have one?

If you don't have a hydrostatic transmission, and it appears you don't, based on the tractor model you list you just have one. Which is the hydraulic filter. On my DK the Hydraulic filter is vertical and the hydrostatic filter is horizontal, but yours is likely different.

Oh, but I bet yours is still put on by that same gorilla.:laughing:

OK, I feel better about the whole thing. Except for the fact a big pissed of gorilla put the filter on.:mad:

OK, so I got the FEL off. It was anything but easy. I followed the manual to a tee. Problem was the left side popped out and the right side did not. Then the whole thing got crooked. I have a field to cut and bale this week. When I get done with this I will put the loader back on and try taking it off again. I think I know the reason it all happened, but being the first time off everything was probably tight.

Interested to learn why it happened and how you make out on the second go around. I plan to take mine off for the first time next weekend....weather permitting for cutting.

One thing I learned after it was off and seeing what was happening;
When the pins were removed it said to lower the arms. After that I should have rolled the bucket up which would have made the loader stands the pivot point, then both sides should have popped out together. At least that's what it looked like to me. I'll post the results when I do it again.

I popped mine off again before I mowed, was easier the 2nd time. Haven't put it back on yet as I didn't finish mowing.
Sorry you ran into trouble cat fever, hope it goes better for you putting it on.

I know if it doesn't come off easier the second time it'll be the last time.

Status report: I attempted to take the loader off this morning before bush hogging the fields. All went well at first as I was able to disconnect everything with no issue. Followed the directions and suggestions. Problem was that once I was ready to back the tractor away from the loader, I realized there was not enough clearance between the front tires and the loader frame (by an inch or two).:mad: Hooked it all back up again and started mowing cause I was burning daylight. Any suggestions as to why this happened? I thought maybe the R1 tires were the culprit as they are taller, but I should still be able to take the loader off.

Here's my suggestion: Like many of us I have no real need to remove my loader, BUT it is nice to know that if you want to you can without huge effort. So I suggest slowing things down, and going through the process without time restraints, so you can get it done without additional pressure on yourself.
It took me a while to figure out how I wanted the bucket positioned before removing the loader pins. Once I had everything lined up, then I disconnected the hydro lines, and pulled back the tractor from the loader. I did notice the 'cradle' where the loader pin rests was devoid of grease and therefore slopped a lot of grease in the area to facilitate easier removal and replacement.
Like most anything never having been done before, it often doesn't go right the first time. It's not an impossible task just one that takes familiarity.
Don't give up, just persist, you know- man over machine! It's not a cyborg, after all!:laughing:

CM has good advice, follow it.

R1s aren't the issue, I have Ag tires, and they did not get in the way. I assume you meant height clearance issues. If I recall, the bucket should be flat on the ground. Try it when you have time.

OK, I put the loader back on today. Everything went perfect. Although I did not mark the hydro lines when taking them off. I had to refer to the manual to get them back on in the right place. I am confident that I could take it off anytime now without a problem. The key that my manual does not state clearly is rolling the bucket down is what disconnects the loader pins from the cradle. I would also suggest using the highest position for the loader stands, and as Coyote machine stated some grease in the cradle would help.

Well don't get cocky, bad things can still happen to good people..:D Just kidding... sounds like you are well on your way to becoming a taker-er-on and off expert. See? it wasn't all that bad now was it? Do it a few more times, and you will be able to do it rapidly and confidently without a second thought. Then when you think you really have it whipped, take it off on soft ground some time... It will increase your swear word vocabulary guaranteed!:laughing:

My loaders hydro lines have colored plastic ties on the hoses and couplers. Just match the hose with the yellow tie to the yellow coupler, blue to blue, Etc.

Mine have color ties also. Only on the loader. The tractor side is all black. That's why I didn't bother making sure where they were to begin with, I saw colors and thought that's what it was for. I will mark the tractor side so this does not happen again.

Honestly, when I started I was very concerned. But it just fell right in place. I had my son with me so when the pin holes lined up he put the pins in place. I really wanted it to work good because I needed the loader. (pallet forks) I am taking down an old pig pen (turned into wood storage) for a new 45'X 72' barn.
On a side note I will be in your neck of the woods in September. I have a son in the air force stationed at Whitman, were going to come stay with him for a week or so.

Glad you went at it again and won. Wouldn't want to feel it was too much effort to do.
You should get your dealer to give you the matching colors for the valve body so disconnecting and reconnecting are as they should be. Never seen a dealer do one side only- that's bogus, esp. considering what you probably paid for that rig!:thumbsup:

/ New Kioti Owner #58
I agree, next time I'm at the dealer I am going to look at some of the other tractors on the lot to see if both sides are marked. Like I said in the earlier post I saw the colors without looking real close and just thought good idea from Kioti to mark them so good. Imagine my surprise when I went to hook them back up.:confused2: I'm just glad it was in the loader manual.:thumbsup:

Thanks for the words of encouragement and glad to hear it is not the R-1's as I did not believe that would be the case. I do plan to try again when I have a bit more time. I suspect I just need to allow more space to roll the bucket back a bit more so it will left the frame up a few more inches. Will give an update when the attempt is made again.

Cat,

Believe me this is the first time I've heard of that misleading combo. ALL Kioti's I've ever seen have had color coordinated on both sides- otherwise what would be the point?
Go get 'em!
