This one has been around a while and may be posted here, but I found a video to back it up.

That's not a true replica of it. I'm surprised Adam and Jamie weren't more accurate. The original pic had the load nearly centered on the rear axle while the replica has it mostly centered on the car as a whole. They need to set the load to the back like the pic crushing the top of the rear window with much less (if any) weight on the front axle.

Obviously this guy drives this thing for a living, you'd think he'd at least buy the correct length of trailer.

Must be super hard on the hydraulics too. Just before the first picture he flew over a set of train tracks bouncing everything.

BTW please don't mind my messy dash.

Reasonably priced dump trailers top out at 12', maybe 14' from what i've seen. Anything bigger is goosneck only, tripple axle & double the price. I've been wanting a longer trailer than my 16' tilting deck & a dump trailer. But havent seen anything that would fit the bill at a high price, much less my cheap *** Craigslist & auction trolling range.

There are quite a few bumper pull, two axle 16' dump trailers around, but I don't know if you'd consider them "reasonably priced" or not. I picked up a new 14K 16' Load Trail last Friday for $6899 with a spring-loaded 10K jack (a similar PJ was the same price). The low profile version (24" load height) runs $400 more.

Gman--That is a good looking trailer. What a great way to get gravel , dirt, wood or many other things. One of those has always been on my short list.
I sure wished you lived closer so I could be your new best friend. :D

Well I am not finding the bucket pic from Thailand but here is one of me and better half being 'hauled' by an elephant. Some steep grade and then our guide hopped off had us ride her down the hill by ourselves for about 30 minutes while he snapped pics with my wife's iPhone. We were holding on pretty hard. No seat belts!

Or maybe I should have posted this pic in 'Today's Seat Time'?

This irresponsible display is totally disgusting! No helmet. No steel toe shoes. No seat belt. hmmm - at least you had 4 wheel drive :)

Actually, it looks like a fun experience that few of us will ever get to enjoy. Thanks for sharing.

Just an FYI, They do make 16' dump trailers in conventional (not gooseneck) style. I have one rated at 13,8K.

I believe I saw that same trailer for sale in TN a few weeks ago for about the same price. Nobody is going to sale that trailer for under 2k. A little single axle dump here is 2,500 to 3,000 easy.

Something has to be up, $1650 for that would be awesome.

My thoughts exactly... I paid almost three times that amount for my 5x10 dual axle 7k. Area code on the contact info isn't a local area code, I'd say it's a scam.

Same one for the same price here in Denver on Craigslist too... I actually E-mailed em asking to see it, never got a reply. Was assuming it was a scam, but figured it was worth a look as it was allegedly near my office.

Well, just looked & my CL post has 1 of the 2 photos & different text, but the same price.

Not a great picture, but it was raining, and we only stopped for a few seconds so I had to rush to get the picture. Guy towing a 6,500lb New Holland L220 skid steer with two very low left side tires (right side looked okay). The right brake/taillight was out, and when I pulled up next to him, noticed it was a landscape trailer (it was a landscaping company) that probably wasn't rated for over 7K....very lightly built.

Saw this heading through town today. Brand new truck and skid steer. A yard or more of dirt in front of SS. No tie downs at all

Traveling 65MPH down the freeway (70 limit area) I noticed I was coming up on a truck with a dovetail car trailer that had a small pile of something in the middle, covered with tarps flapping in the wind. Trying to figure out what it was, I almost didn't realize how fast I was coming up on it. I slow down to about 55 and I'm still coming up on it when I realize it is a load of sand. Every time he hits a bump, more is moving to the rear and sliding off the tail. As room appears to my left I move over and dig my phone out of my pocket and get it unlocked to take a pic, because what I'm seeing I can't believe. The pile is centered between the trailer axles and the rear of the trailer, and is sliding off the tail. I blow by him doing less than 50MPH snapping a picture out of disbelief. Every time he hits a bump, you can see little bits of daylight appear under his rear tires.

Please excuse the late timing on snapping the pic, driving safety comes first.

Along the same lines, we saw a moron hauling a load of very small gravel with a lot of sand in an open trailer on the interstate! Sand and gravel were blowing out the back and pelting vehicles in his lane. It was a quick pass and outta there for us but I'll bet it didn't end well for him and that someone might have an issue with things. Sorry no pic--I tried-- but it really did happen and I'll bet we have all seen similar over the years.

Years ago I saw a rapidly dwindling pile of nice sand being hauled down the road in an open trailer and at higher speeds you could see the pile shrinking in the wind.

You would figure people are smarter than this.

Me? Naw.... I'm a bit more realistic than to figure on notions as wild as that...

That's why a lot of contractors add a 20% margin - shrinkage! :D
