Failing U-joints caused vibrations that flexed the input shaft until it fatigued and failed. New u-joints many hours ago when they started to fail would have been cheaper.

I would add that you need to grease this shaft just like any other driveline and from threads I have read one of the zerks is a little inconvenient to get to.
I think regardless of the brand,all the driveshafts are a royal pain to grease.On my Kubota GR which has 3 shafts,there are no zerks on the joints.The manual says to squirt oil on them which seems rather odd to me.
