John Deere Ground Force Tractor

I have been looking at this new John Deere Ground Force Tractor Deere has out. It looks like it is perfect for what i am looking for and even has a trailer with it. I am hesitant with the simple 2 speed transmission with auto brake. The rest looks good. Has a radio, adjustable seat and arm rests.

I think that it will work out well. My neighbor has a younger son who just sits and stares at me while I have the tractor out. This might give him something to play with at the same time.

My daughter has one and loves it. She just turned 2 and just started steering it, which is cool to see. Previously, I would have to cock the wheel so she'd drive in circles. Now she can run up and down our ~700 foot curved driveway and keep the tractor going where it needs to go.

I am sure I would have wanted one when I was a child. That said I would prefer to see more pedal cars where the kids get some exercise. Maybe a pedal tractor would be my choice if these are still available.

Not only for the exercise, but one would not have to replace battery.

Those are tuff little tractors. They do not have a transmission. They have an electric motor on each rear wheel. The shift lever is a 2 speed electric switch. It can be locked in low speed with a screw. If you have a paved or concrete driveway the tires will wear out in no time if you let your kids run it in high speed.

When the battery needs replaced, get a cheep sealed lead acid battery off of Ebay instead of the high priced Peg Perego ones.

I seen those , I'm really thinking hard about buying me one, I mean my son one. I have a massey pedal tractor my grandfather got me when he bought a new massey ferguson 135 back in 72. I've thought about doing a little restoring to it and letting him have it. Looks like this one

That would be a fun project imo, you should go for it. I like some of the projects that I have seen on tv, saving some old iron and bringing it back to life, Rick in Vegas come to mind.

I'm just debating between the Gator & the tractor with the trailer. I was thinking about the one with a loader, but reviews say the loader sucks, is a pain to operate & won't stay put.

Any recommendations on the Gator vs. Tractor + trailer option?

We have 3 of Peg Perego JD vehicles at our house for our grandkids. We have a Gator & 2 tractors. One with a loader & one without. I pulled the gator & tractor out of neighborhood trash piles. Had to do a little work to them to make them useable.
The kids like the Gator the best, because it has a bed & 2 seats. They seam to use the loader tractor 2nd most. I do not know of any issues thay have had with the loader tractor.

No issues with the loader on ours, but I took it off as it wasn't really useful yet with a two year old operator. She's still happy about just driving it around.
