How much PTO hp does is it supposed to use? We will want to see the pic of the first bales of course.

According to the specs it requires 40 HP.

Yes, 40 PTO HP required, I will post up some pictures of the first baling in a few weeks. I will be using the 1660 to pull it.

Nice baler. Its curious to note the smaller model than what you have 1734, only takes 30 HP pto, so I could easily run it. I currently run a Hesston 4550 inline square baler. The current version is the MF 1835 but it shows 35 HP min. My tractor has 26.5 PTO.

Great information - so If I ever want to go round bales, there is a baler I can run. Great information.

Very nice. Did you get mesh wrap as well? What's the monitor look like? I looked very hard at that model behind my 4610. Decided to wait and keep using older baler.

Yes, I have mesh wrap, bale kicker, gathering wheels, auto tie controller. I will snap a picture of the monitor and post it tomorrow or so.

Right out of Star Wars. I don't know much about round balers, but it looks like you can use mesh or twine to bale, but can you mesh and twine (both). Probably overkill, but was wondering. Did you also get the moisture sensors? I was reading somewhere it can be a factory option now.

It is either mesh or twine but not both at same time, twine has to wrap about 20 times and mesh wraps 2.5, so I would have to adjust wrap time between the 2 choices. Did not get moisture sensors, I don't really need them in the south, when we get 5 dry days in a row, it is time to bale.

I promised some pictures of my first baling with the new baler. We made 95 rolls this past weekend, and the baler behind the 1660 done great. There was a small learning curve shaping the bales as you can see in a few of the pictures, but I worked it out quickly. Now I cant wait until the next field is ready.

I did notice in the one picture the size of your windrows. Around here they would be much bigger. Nice job. Now all you need is that robot to move them to the barn while you have a cold one.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Nice work, I think the bales look darn good. Wrap looks nice and even too. How big you making them? Are you going to max size? If so are the bales just a bit over 5 foot in diameter(tall)? I'm really thinking of pulling the trigger on this one too. Thanks, and nice work.
