Drew, good luck with all those new holes,
Thanks. just came in and took a shower to get the pollen off me and while I still had a lot more holes to bore,
I was done in. Moved machinery around this morning and dug holes this afternoon. Keeping my neck bent around like that was bad enough, but then my right leg started cramping up after three hours and I thought of that reporter in the tank...time to come in. Never did count how many but I got the most important area all done. I think about fifty trees.
Turns out I have a development right next door on one side, which I sure could not see too well when I bought this place delighting in the privacy. Which disappeared after the leaves fell. So I'm going to get Leyland Cypress (pretty wet in some areas, the auger came up covered in mud a few times) plus two other varieties, an arborvitae I suppose, though I'm kind of tired of them and they get wrecked by heavy snow or ice storms. And whatever else grows fast, is evergreen, and is inexpensive in quantity.
I honestly think I'll do best at Walmart's garden center, but I'll try the local place down the street first.
I started off the day going to look for a few tomato plants, since I had planted the potatoes, and came home with tomatoes and green peppers. And strawberries. Four of each. Should be plenty for me. Never got them planted and isn't going to happen today. Tomorrow first thing before it rains hopefully. Today, I quit.
Holiday weekend, enjoy everyone. Don't take any wooden Easter eggs.
And may all the blessings of Easter be yours.
