It's a 2" rod with 3.5" barrel. I'm going with 3/8" hose. The guy that builds them sells them primarily for skid-steers, so maybe that is why he said 1/2".
AG fittings have a ball on the end don't they? The rear remotes take 1/2" AG fittings, and I think you would be fine with 3/8" hose, works fine for me.

These are the male ends from my loader hookup:View attachment 412223
They are 3/8, but what are they called? I'd assume they's use the same all the way around, but maybe not.

Underdog. If you can post a pic of your grapple on bucket I would like to see it.

I see they have several different lengths on their web site. You said you have the 36" is that measurement from the pivot pin to the end of the thumb? My bucket measurement from top to cutting edge is 24". Probably go with that if it reaches from top to cutting edge when closed. Obviously it won't touch if you have a lot of material in the bucket.
On your angle iron you installed did you drill and tap the holes for the mounting bolts? Or did you weld nuts on the bottom side?
Company is in Centralia, Il. which is a few ours south of me. Did not know that.
Looks like we were typing at the same time George!
