Mechanic Constructs Drivable "Upside Down Truck" - Safeshare.TV

I love it!

Long ago - I saw a double '49 Studebaker. These Studebakers were nearly symmetrical front-to-back but this one was two fronts welded together so there was a windshield, headlights etc pointed toward the rear as well as in front.

I've seen photos of the same modification to a '49 Ford; a car with a front on each end. Except that one was a 49 on one end and a '50 on the other end.

Didn't get a picture of it but once followed a pickup with hd flatbed and a newer john deere mini excavator going sixty five on a fifty five mph road, no chains on the excavator at all. NONE!! He stopped in town and was going to stop and tell him to put some chains on before he killed someone but was already late to work. Idiot.

It's heavy so it won't go anywhere!

Famous last words. Gets to the jobsite. "I thought I put that thing on the trailer before I left. Oh well. just go back and get it."

My old Co-pilot saw a D8 come off a trailer on a early morning trip to the airport on a gentle bend in a 55 mph zone on a highway. The driver said he hooked up to the trailer and thought it was secured.

Wow. I assume he is the type who doesn't look in the rear view mirrors LOL.

Saw a truck bedliner on the side of the road today. Was about 50 feet out in a muddy field and likely the owner never knew it blew out of the back of the truck.

Imagine driving along the opposite side of an Interstate in the middle of the night, and having that land on your windshield !

Even w/o any external vehicle damage, you'd be replacing the driver's seat ! Cheaper than the cleaning bill !

This happened to us one day at work long ago...

We used to take our own cars when we were working in small towns too far away to drive the company vehicles back and forth every day and we'd take turns driving our own cars and transporting everyone (small crew). One guy had just got a fresh (and very cheap) paint job on his 1974 Matador and we were heading home one fine summer, all relaxed and laid back, when all of a sudden the paint on the hood lifted up and peeled back in one solid sheet and covered the windshield totally! Happened so fast it was as if it were instantaneous and it made a surprising loud WHAP! when it happened . Between the "lights going out" and the loud noise of it slapping against the windshield ...well, to say we were startled would be more than a mild understatement.

About ten years ago we were driving down a country road at about 60 MPH when a grain truck passing us from the other direction at the same speed lost a big bolt from the top that hit our hood and then the windshield. It happened in a millisecond and the sound was so loud our ears rang for a couple days. It sounded like a 12 gauge going off inside the cab.

Here's the idiot I saw today....70, yes 70 pallets on a half-ton. Any wonder why it's riding so low, the frame/bed seems bent and the tailgate is all mangled?
