Ads... I want them gone !

I now am getting ads on the bottom of the screen that I can't get rid of, why, is it just money ?

How do I get rid of the ads ?

What browser do you use? I use Ad Block Plus for Chrome...works for me...there should be a similar plug in for your browser...

IIRC, the only ads when reading a thread should be the ones on the top and right side of the page. If you have one on the bottom, you may have some malware that is adding extra ads for you.

First off, the ads on the top and right are bad enough I am getting ads on the bottom too, those are the ones that are the pita.
Second, membership dues are the way to cover some of the cost and I like this site, I would be willing to pay a fee to remove most of the ads from my viewing and I say most because I understand someone has to pay for the site and membership dues will not cover the cost.

Thks, I will see what I have but usually an Apple does not have a Malware problem.

Strange. I am using IE and get no adds at the bottom. I have not really noticed the adds on the side.

No annoying ads at bottom on my Macs with Safari. There is a static banner ad way at the bottom that I hardly notice (never scroll that far).

However, on my iPad (iOS Safari) I have begun seeing an annoying ad that pops up at the bottom of the screen and keeps following if I scroll down. That is fairly new and obtrusive.

I get'em on my iPad constantly. Mine are usually for the Nissan Leaf. They are becoming annoying, so much so that I have started using my Kindle Fire instead.

my son got hit with malware on win 8 on chrome and IE after downloading "software" to watch video online and got ads on bottom all the time. First I uninstalled the app from control panel and removed it from the extensions. Check your add-ons and uncheck it to see if it goes away.

FINALLY got Adblock to work right with IE9 and I LOVE IT...I HATE ADVERTISING, PERIOD !!!!! HATE IT, HATE IT, HATE IT. All ads do is tick me off and make me vow NEVER TO DO BUSINESS with the advertiser !!! If they were not so intrusive they might get my business....but when they are intrusive, they lose it....PERIOD !!!!!

My Ipad too. Relentless, plus they jump around as I scroll down to read the posts that are lower on the page. The one on there right now doesn't even offer a way to close it. So I clicked on it and then delved into it deeper, just to make sure they get billed for it. BTW my popup ad blocker setting is on.

I also run Kaspersky ISS on my Windows PC's but there are still some popups that show up...the morons who design such irritating distractions should have their testicles crushed in a vice.
