Agreed. Some folks just get their kicks from whipping up on authority figures. Hindsight is a safe platform for pontification.
And, :welcome: to TBN!

It's not so much that. It's the admission by several forecasters that they had indications that the storm was going to be less severe in many places and/or track several miles off from where originally predicted. But they chose to ignore that and proceed with dire warnings for everyplace. That's major league arrogance when you're talking about shutting down major highways and mass transit in big cities.

I only got a foot.

Looking down the handle of my "snow shovel":

No cab on my tractor, SS has cab & heat and is my plow machine. Better maneuverability and very fast.

Re: I hate Snowplowing, Thank God I have a plow, Burr I want a CAB

I was too cold to walk down to the horse barn and paddock that I also plowed to snap pics of those. Same goes for the 1/4 mile driveway, but here are a few shots from around the house and equipment building.

I'd rather be skiing.

Same here. I had a cab tractor but still got rid of it for a skid steer. For my use, the SS was more practical. Even though it has A/C, I remove the door and don't use it in summer. But this time of year the heat works fantastic. And with a 73 inch Erskine blower, I'm warm & dry while I'm out in very cold weather listening to a New Orleans classic rock station on the iPhone during snow removal.

Here's my Wheel Horse 520h blowing snow. I blew snow Tuesday evening and the snow depth was 22", right to the top of my blower. We got several more inches by Weds morning.

I agree and no advertising.

Here is today's local forecast:

It's funny that those advocating commercial weather information sites don't realize that they get their data form the source you cite...IMO the only sources that can compete are those with the wherewithal and can afford more regionally directed radar etc...like high end network affiliates in the major markets...do they really think that entities like TWC etc.,etc...have their own satellites etc...?

I measured 29 inches but it was all fluff and feathers; I handled it all with a Ford 1900 and a 7 foot plow mounted to the bucket. I remember 33 inches of heavy, wet stuff that required my 65 horse diesel loader (10,000 lbs+) to move. There was definitely a lot of "hype" on the TV but shutting down the roads made a difference in the initial cleanup.

NOAA is my first stop for weather forecasts.
Loads quickly, no hype, no ads and lots of facts to support their predictions.
What happened to The Weather Channel?
I remeber not too long ago when it was a pretty good place to get an update on a developing storm.

If the story is accurate the head guy at the weather channel ran afoul of the global warming crowd and said so on air.
He (I think his name was Joe) now runs a private (for profit) forecasting agency that supports industry with on demand site specific forecast.

I bought a snow bike this year. Broke it in During Juno.

Great way to get around

I am aware of that, but i like how wetherunderground arranges the data: Nevis, Minnesota (56467) Conditions & Forecast | Weather Underground

Don't look now, but winter storm "Linus" is taking shape according to the geniuses at Weather Channel.
